Hypnotic Mist (FA) - Different taste, lacking flavor. Am I missing something?

When researching for my first DIY order i seen quite a few rave reviews on Hypnotic Mist by flavour art. I ended up purchasing a 30ml bottle from ECX.

I ended up mixing 30ml. I believe i mixed it at 12%. I'm not sure as i lost the recipe in a recent hard drive crash. Anyway, most people describe it as being citrusy. To me it tastes like a very bland after-dinner mint. Very mildly sweet and chalky.

I've vaped about half the bottle and i don't believe i'll be making anymore.

I believe 12% is probably on the higher side. Should i try mixing at a lower %? Has anyone else had a similar experience with Hypnotic Mist?

Try cutting it in half to 5-6% and add a drop of lemon juice per every 5 mls. Sometimes more is not better. Lemon juice seems to make citrus - dessert flavors pop. Give it a day or two to steep. Hpno is a great flavor and goes with a lot of recipes. It would be a shame to give up on it before you've tried all possibilities.

12% is way too much IMO. Even 5% is too much for me personally... i like Flavour Art's flavors 1-2%. I would start low and work your way up. Also would start w/ smaller batches until you get the percentage right and now that you like it.

I have found that a chalky taste os one of the first signs of too much flavoring put in personally.

I've always mixed it at 10% with a bit of Vape Wizard and Flash. It used to be my ADV but I got bored with it.

Yes TFA Hypno or whatever and Hypnotic Mist from FA are definitely different. I actually prefer TFA's tbh... Tastes like the alcohol. Haven't found the perfect % of Flavour Art's yet because I haven't had time to mess with it... but even at 5% I think it's too high. I was going off of people's recommendations, not remembering that I tend to like FA's percents very low

Thanks for the suggestions. I was able to recover my recipes from my old hard drive and i mixed a 30ml bottle at 8% HM and .5% TFA sucralose sweetener. Guess i will try 5% HM and maybe bump up the sweetener a bit?

Ok, i mixed another batch at 5% HM, 1.5% sweetener, roughly 70/30. Put some in my tank and primed. Got nothing but burnt taste at 8.5w. Rinsed and dry burned the atty, filled and primed, let it sit overnight and fired it at 7w's, no flavor and still a slight hint of burnt.

Grabbed a new atty, rinsed, dried, filled and primed. At 7w no flavor and still slightly burnt.

Maybe i screwed the mix up, maybe it's too much sweetener. I think it's safe to say that this batch was a failure. NEXXXT!

That was a lot of sweetener (IMO) try it without additives first.
