…waiting to absorb your knowledge.

Back story here is that I ordered a kit from the States without fully understanding the customs situation. Fast forward 2 weeks and the company says they’ve stopped shipping to Canada for the time being because each one of their orders is getting seized at the border. So I go ahead and cancel my order.

Now I’m back to square one. I need advice on what model I should get and where to get it. I’ve been to plenty of Canadian supplier websites, but I can’t pull the trigger. I like the two-piece, smaller design of the KR808… seems like an easy transition from analogs. I don’t want something I’m going to be embarrassed pulling out of my pocket after all. But I’d also like to get something with superior performance for home use. Is that the eGo?

God I’m a noob.

IMO, you can't go wrong getting the ego kit. I have both the ego and the 808 setups, well, I gave my 808 stuff to my daughter to try out. I use the ego all day long. There are ego passthru units if you spend alot of time at the computer (it plugs into your computer port charging your battery while you vape it). I would also recommend getting a pack of boge LR cartomizers. They are very easy to use and will add a bit of warmth and throat hit to your experience. Good luck in your search!

Oh, don't forget to get at least one bottle of juice. When I first started I was so overwhelmed by all the info that I didn't order any juice.

my personal rule of thumb nowadays is to have no less than 30ml of juice on hand at any given time... that way, if the worst happens and CP (who we all know are my best buddies... NOT) pulls a stunt and you end up waiting 4 years for your package(ok a slight exaggeration) you won't find yourself with nothing to vape and drawn back to analogs...

You are in the same boat that all of us have been in during their beginning......... scared to commit ! (even though it should be easier since it now really is your second trigger pull).

You'll just have to decide what appeases your own attraction to a device, it's style, it's reviewed status, it's general perceived "after purchase" following.

It just really doesn't matter IMHO, because whatever you decide on choosing, the majority move on to something else (the new toy syndrome), and all of this frustration will be behind you and you will then be reading about the "next guy" who is in this very same position wondering which way to jump first, lol.

Yes, "I" feel a good device is an Ego or a 510 (more preference on the Ego even if one feels in the beginning that it is odd looking), and that they are Genuine Joye products (again, in MY opinion only). The information and recommendations are all over the newbs forum and even include a lot of follow throughs of the ones who first decided.

Make an informed decision and pull the trigger. You'll look back on this day with amusement I assure you.

VapeOn,
Greg

The eGo is good, the Riva is gooder. JMHO Either will serve you well.
I start to sweat and hyperventilate if my stock gets down to only having 100 C-E2 XL cartomizers/clearomizers, 10 batteries, and a liter of my favorite juice, on hand. Some may run out, I may not live long enough to vape what's on the shelf.

Cheers,
otrpu

So is the ego-T the new kid on the block? Looks like Im leaning that way... And i can use a 510 battery with the atty and tank?

Just so im clear, a 'tank' is just a cartridge without the cotton batting ot wicking material?

The tank takes the Place of the cartridge and has no batting or anything and has a cap on the bottom that can be removed for filling and has designated spot in the center where the spike in the atomizer pierces to draw the liquid from the tank.

Yes and no lol. The 510 tank cartridges have wicking material at the bottom. There are tank mods that do not. The eGo-Tank is a plastic cart without filler that wicks differently into a specially designed atomizer.

Have a read at don daboomvape's illustrated guide to vaping in the newbies sticky section.

I started with the 510 and all the various methods (dripping, cartos, LR cartos, 510 tank carts, 510 tank carts with an LR atty), stepped up to the eGo-T (still compatible with anything 510, just a bigger batt and ability to use the Tank) and am anxiously awaiting the delivery of my Go-Go.

The eGo-T atomizer and tank do fit on a 510 batt, it just looks really weird. Sort of a parasol, mushroom type thing.

Lots of options out there. My favourite methods so far are my eGo-T and using the 510 tank carts on a LR atomizer. I like lots of throat hit (TH), definitely gives that analoguey feel.

Good luck in your vaping travels.
