Even though i have been at this for only about 3 weeks I am convinced that I will never smoke another cigarette. Because of this I feel very comfortable trying to spread the word about vaping and get my smoking friends to at least give it a try. So far I have "converted" two people but most of the others come back with the same few responses:

1. It looks too stupid to do in public. I generally respond by saying "So what. You don't even know the people you think are judging you".
2. vaping has not been proven to be safer than cigarettes. To that one I say "But you know how bad cigs are for you - I don't believe vaping could be worse"
3. I like smoking and don't want to quit. Not much to say to these folks.

Anyway I'd love to hear about everyone else's experience in getting their friends and families to ditch the cigs and to find out if you have found any really persuasive arguments that have helped you get the point across.

Congrats on the converts, dear!
And I most certainly hope that your brother has informed himself about Chantix :( That stuff is not candy!

He has already experienced a few side effects. One big one in his pockets. lol
I tried that junk once. Totally couldn't handle those side effects. Thing is, I could have hooked him up with a mech mod, atty, coils and juice for nothing! Hard headed I suppose.

My uncle almost died of a heart attack because of chantix.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

Better to die of a heart attack then use those nasty e cigs that no one knows whats in them cause you know those might kill you for sure!!! (make sure you say all of that with as much sarcasim you can find)

@Sirius:
I feel sad for your brother, and I hope that he will not suffer too much from taking that dangerous drug!

But dear, if you take Chanti*x to stop smoking and you die or commit suicide under the influence - then you are most definitely no longer smoking!
I bet they count that as a "success".

Three converted with one more pending/well on his way, and another who had quit smoking of her own accord years ago but loves the flavor.

37 converts...32 exclusively vapeing...5 dual users (2 who gave kits back that were recycled)

How do you even keep track?? Both are impressive.

I read some of the linked items and am saving them. That way I can cite them in letters.

I wrote a letter to the local newspaper and a week later I got a call from a relative in the next county saying that it showed up in their paper. A week later my relative e-mailed me with a citizen response to that paper and it was...motivating. I also put stuff on my Facebook and get positive responses.

Getting the word out helps us all.

Three of my five converts were Facebook contacts. They read my,"If you are still smoking cigs, you may be stupid" post.
I followed it up with a,"how e-cigs helped me quit" paragraph and a link to ECF. lol

I have a little notebook and keep notes.....every single person has called me at least a couple of times to either ask questions or where to buy new hardware or juice :) I also see 18 of them once a month or more as part of a couple of social groups I belong to.
