I have been a smoker for the past 20 years and never even thought about quiting until recently. I started with Blu ecigs, it was simply disgusting. I have not enjoyed smoking those and went back to smoking. After smoking for couple of months, I really wanted to try to quit again after my friend told me about Halo. After hours, days of research I finally purchased a Itaste VVV3 with 3 Nautalis Mini also purchased some ejuices from Backwoods and MT. Baker. I have been smoking this for about 1 month and this is where I am confused.

1. The taste is not consistent - is this normal? I know people on the forum are stating that it might be a bad coil or what not but I have 3 Nautalis Mini bought additional coils and the taste is still not consistent.

2. My throat feels really dry - the MT. baker seems worse than Backwood - is the quality in Backwoods better than MT Baker. What is actually good quality? Who decides what is good quality? Price seems to be the only thing that is different from a lot of these vendors. Meaning, how do I know I am getting the quality I am paying for.

3. Back to the taste - it simply does not taste good. Is this normal? Nautalis is not for me? should I try a different clearamizer? am I extra sensitive to taste? I have 10 different flavors and I can taste the flavors but not the taste taste as a whole (if you know what I mean). Should I try different ejuice company?

4. Does RBA tastes that much better? I mean people talk about taste, is this something i need to get acquired to? or are people saying it taste good for a ecig or do people really enjoy the taste?

5. What am I doing wrong? I tried 3 different tanks, 4 different coils, i have 10 different flavors, I check on the Aspire website for the authnenticity. Is this just me? or do some people just don't like the taste? To be fair, I do rarely get some really good tasting puffs but overall it does not taste good. Any comments, advise will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you guys in advance.

I am not going to go through your whole post and answer everything, but I will say that RBA is much better vaping experience, if you are willing to learn how to do it correctly. As for the juice, how much nicotine is in it? Nicotine is kind of analogous to tabasco sauce. If you have too much tabasco in your juice, it is going to overpower the taste and wreck the experience of the carefully crafted flavor. And it will be more painful to consume.

The experience I have from the juices I vape in RDAs is amazing. It is not something I would say is good 'as far as e-juice goes'. It is fantastic as far as anything delectable goes. I love it. But I am making massive vapor with massive flavor with a perfect 3mg nicotine.

Taste is subjective of all juice brands.

The more nicotine you have in juice the less it will taste like the flavor you paid for.

Try White Label Co juice but with 0mg. Strawberry or Watermelon.

Dont chain vape all day or youll get a vapors tounge. You need to hydrate through out the day and take hourly breaks.

Did you give your juices time to steep? Maybe that would help improve the flavour. Just put the bottles of juice somewhere cool and dark for a couple of weeks. Giving them a good shake up every five days or so. Then try them again. Might sound obvious but always give your juice a really good shake before filling up too. Hope this helps.

Happy vaping. :)

You will get better flavor from and RDA no question. Juice tastes different in an RDA then it will from a clearomizer. I do not use my tobacco flavors in my tanks, I will only use them in my RDAs.

Taste is subjective, so if it does not taste good to you try something else. No easy fix there.

What mod are you using. That can actually make a difference as well.

Yes you will get dry mouth and dry throat, it is just part of vaping. Drink plenty of water.

Find a B&M to do some flavor tasting.

One of the hardest things for me starting out was finding a flavor I liked. I tried quite a few but finally went to the diy forum and started learning how to make my own. What is the % pg/vg in your juices? Sometimes a different clearomizer can make all the difference, I am still using my top coil vivi novas from 2 years ago and now into RBA's. I hated the protanks because they were so airy until I rebuilt them myself. It will take some trial and error until you find something you really like. Just because everyone else loves something doesn't mean you will. I would not buy multiples of any item until I was sure I was going to like it.

Thank you guys in advance.

1) Taste is subjective. I have had juices from mbv that I loved and some that I hated. Also, most mbv really needs to steep (read: age) and they change drastically as they do. I never really enjoyed any backwoods brew flavors that I tried personally but again, its subjective. If its not your coils you are probably experiencing the changing of the flavor as the juice ages. You also have to keep in mind that if your just getting off smokes your tastes will change as well. This is even worse if you keep going from cigs to juice because your tastes are gonna be all over the place as you transition. Its not juice tasting ejuice, you'll also notice that you will begin to smell stuff again lol.

2) This goes back to being subjective again. You will hear a lot of opinions about this one. I think some companies are worth a little extra money while others im sure just hike the price up so they can slap a premium label on it. Your best bet is to check out some reviews on different flavors and vendors and make up your own mind about what you want to try. When I am trying a new vendor I usually grab as many small bottles as I can for under 20 bucks to give them a shot.

Vaping dries you out big time. You will have to drink extra water, this is even worse when you first start but a little extra water over the course of 24-48 hours will make a huge difference here.

3) Everything I have said this far to being subjective applies here. You are going to have to find your niche in this game. I am a HUGE juice snob. If I cant vape it all day and still be happy with it in a week I never buy the stuff again, I wont vape anything less than 70% vg, and i HATE sweet flavors. I tend to lean towards subtle stuff like vanilla, honey, nutty, slightly fruity (but It cant be a candy fruit flavor.. its gotta be really subtle and really fresh tasting) you'll just have to grab some samples from different vendors and figure out what works for you. But unfortunately as your tastes change the flavors you like probably will as well.

4) Yes, but dont even worry about rda's right now. You seem frustrated enough as it is without having to learn all about RDA battery safety and mech mods to go along with it as well as building coils.

5) Im going to suggest 3 things for you to try. First, grab a pack of standard resistance oldschool boge style cartomizers to rule out those tanks being your problem. Second, look at some juice reviews and find a vendor with good reviews that has a sample pack of flavors you think sound appealing. If your grabbing sweet desert vapes try fruits, or if your trying fruits grab some tobacco's, or if your using tobacco's.. dont get anymore tobacco's. And third, some people are sensitive to the taste of some flavor extraction methods. Go grab one bottle of juice from the absolute virgin line of virgin vapor eliquid. Its expensive, but it will help you narrow down if its a juice problem your having. Its literally the only juice my mother in law can handle.

Report back and let us know how its going. It really is just mostly finding your niche. 90% of the juices I try I never buy again, im just picky like that. And when I first started it was a nightmare. But once you find your holy grail.. its worth it.

edit: Might not be a bad idea to pick up some unflavored nic too. try a 50/50 or 60/40 vg/pg with that tank you got.

1: Yes it is normal when you are starting;
When you're new, you tend to draw hard like you might on a cigarette; then that causes it to flood; then you draw harder because that's what you would do with a cigarette that isn't lighted properly; that makes it flood more.
Also your tastebuds will be changing the longer to stay off the cigarettes.

2: The PG especially in eliquids tends to dehydrate you; you need to keep hydrated.
Quality is just as with anything else; price alone can't tell you quality.

3: Yes try out different juices but, because your tastebuds are changing, something that tasted good a month ago might not taste so good anymore.
A good thing to keep some of is unflavored eliquid so you have a baseline to test with.

4: You can get more consistent flavor with an rda. With an rda, you control how dry or how wet the coil is; With an rba, you depend on wicking to keep the coil just damp enough;

Wow. the quick replies and comments. Thank you all!!! and please excuse my typos and grammar errors, really hard to proof read on a phone.

1. As per everyone's request, I will drink more water to hydrate myself.

2. I have tried 30PG, 40PG, 50PG, 60PG, 70PG and 12mg on all the ejuices.

3. "The taste is not consistent" - what I mean is it tastes different everytime I vape. Most of the time it does not taste good and I sometimes get 1 or 2 vapes with really good flavor.

4. I have only tried Aspire Nautalis Mini

5. RBA - sounds like my next option - thinking about purchasing a Kayfun Mini and try it on my VVV3. If i love the taste I would get a Mod.

6. Yes, I did give time to steep.

7. I cannot find any B&M around in New york.

8. I understand taste is very subjective but I know on top of whatever flavor I vape, I taste metal, I taste the chemicals, I taste plastic. It just leaves a weird after taste. Usually the first puff taste ok but the more puffs I take the taste gets worse. <---- that's what i mean about not being consistent.

8. Klynn - thank you for your comment. I guess I can still be saved from going back to regular Cigarettes.

It's a pretty well known thing among vapers (vaper's tongue) to keep several tanks with several flavors on rotation.

Can't find a B&M in New York!! wow!

other than trying some new toppers and some "organic" juice the only other thing I can think of is cleaning out the tank. Its unlikely that after a month you havent already burnt off any shop oil but its worth a shot

take one of the tanks apart, soak everything in alchohol for about 30 minutes then drop the coil in some boiling water for about 30 seconds. Take it out and let it all dry out really well and then drop some juice in it (give it time to wick up really well) and try again, start low on the voltage.

Thank you for taking your time to answer all my concerns. I will try to buy some unflavored nic, If I am vaping unflavored nic, is it suppose to not have any taste? I will definitely try Virgin Vapors. I tried Blue which is the old school cartomizers and I did not like them at all. Can you recomend a clearomizer that gives warm vape? The nautalis mini seems very cool. Thank you again for all your help. I will defnitely report back to you guys!!!

I done this couple of times. I even tried soaking it in alcohol right out of the box, I still can't seem to enjoy this taste. Can you recommend any topper that is known to have give better flavors than the nautalis mini.

My guess is you're getting burnt hit and don't recognise it yet.

Or maybe you've been vaping on the same coil for a week; they accumulate with gunk and taste more and more burnt over time; that's why people dryburn them to clean them off.

I have heard others complain of juice not tasting good in an Aspire. I've got a few and don't have any problems with them. But something in the wicks they use can, apparently, seep into the juice.

If that is the case for you it might be an idea to try a different clearomizer. Maybe the KangerTech AeroTank would be enough to enhance and stabilise your flavour.

Hope you find something that will work for you so that you can just enjoy the whole vaping experience. It is a steep learning curve just stick with it I'm sure you'll get there.

Happy vaping. :)
