Hello all,

I am new to the form and wanted to ask some questions. A little about me, I am a Djarum Clove smoker to the make and have been since I was 16 years old and now I'm 24 years old. I love cloves, I mean truly love cloves. I also love smoking in general, and I love smoking Djarum specials. with the FDA new ban on flavored cigarettes Djarums are no longer for sale in the USA. I am looking into ordering them but I am also thinking about E cigarettes as an obtain. I went around buying all the cloves I could so I will be okay for a little while. Right now I am smoking about a pack a day.

I have read pages and pages of posting all thru this form and have figured out a few thing but am still a little confused.

First off I should state that I know little about E Cigarettes.

Everything I read about the "The Chuck" makes me believe it is a great E cigarette. But I don't no where to buy the battery or atomizer.
I also don't even know if the chuck is right for me.

Also, I don't no how all this really works. I know there are juices I can buy as I have read on many of the forms. I have also watch "GimmGreen" review on Clove Nobacco juice and that juice looks like it will give me close the the same taste.

But what now? What should I order, where do I start? Can someone please help me!

My advice would be to start with something like the 510. Then move up to a mod if you feel the need. Something like the Chuck, Silver Bullet, Prodigy, AdapteveR, etc with a 510 connection. That way you have the 510 batts to fall back on for on the go or more discreet vaping and have the mod for all other times!

To add more to my original post, there are TONS of 510 resellers located in America. Or you can order from China. I'd personally recommend Healthcabin.net for your 510 needs. Tons of colors to choose from and insanely fast shipping. Check out their subforum here on ECF for more info.

As for clove e-liquid, I ordered a bottle once and hated it. I only smoked cloves on occasion, but found the flavor to only be somewhat faithful to real cloves. It was really hard to get rid of the clove flavor once it was in my atomizer. It might be good mixed with a tobacco flavor, or from a different vendor like the one you pointed out before.

As for the Chuck, it doesn't come with any batteries or atomizers. That's up to you. Dealextreme is cheap and offers the 18650 batteries that the Chuck takes, and the cr123 batteries that Little Chuck takes. There are other options, but none are nearly as cheap.

The Chuck seems to have a good rep so far, but I'd personally point you towards the Adaptever, Silver Bullet, Prodigy, GG, or Super-T. The makers of all of these also carry batteries, chargers and atomizers on their sites to get you started!

I always recommend the kr808/vapor king for new users, and for folks who are tired of messing around with their current models. The kr808 or Vapor King (a brand name) is a two-piece model with only a cartomizer (an atomizer nested inside of a cart) and a battery. With these models you just screw in the cartomizer and you are ready to go. The cartomizer is marketed as a disposable and the idea is you just toss the whole thing when the liquid is gone. Many of us, myself included, refill them though, and can get at least 3 refills, sometimes more out of each one.

That said, the two major suppliers of this model Steve, at Vapor4Life, and Drew at Nhaler, are both stand up guys and have great warranties and customer service. They both have a personal touch and tend to throw in extras with every order. They also both carry clove cartomizers. Check out their sub-forums here for all the great reviews, videos about the models, and for any specific questions you might have.

Good luck with your choices, I think you will be pleasantly surprised by vaping and e-cigs.

I was in almost the exact situation.

My fav poison was Djarum Blacks.

I did a lot of research and finally went with the Vapor King from Vapor4Life.com.

That is Steve Milin (SMILIN on the boards).

He has been extremely good to do business with.

I found a decent mix for custom flavors was a 50/50 mix of Clove, and Vanilla.

Again Steve sells both liquids.

There is a lot of advise on these boards anbout who is best, etc.

I recommend you take your time and make a decision that you are happy with.

I feel for you. I use to smoke cloves, and the first clove flavor I tried was a self made glycerin and Lorann clove flavor drops..it was okay...but not quite right...then a few weeks ago, I stumbled into a thread in the DIY Juice forum and found this:

I have been using Eugenal bought from the perfumist is a closer match to Djarum Blacks, as it is the oil used in clove cigarettes!

Get it here: Eugenol Natural - 2.5ml vial [see subject heading/title for url]
You only need 4 drops per 10ml of ejuice and your there!
Dan

Well, I bought some, and I have to agree, its right on for my tastes...

There is a learning curve with the e-cigarette, but if you give it a chance, you will likely find you enjoy it more than smoking analogs. Good luck!

Hello kpq:

Welcome to ECF. Just wanted tell you that I have it on the qt from a friend that owns a cig/analoge store that the Djarum Cloves have been reworked to what is now a cigar. I tryed one, same taste, they are just a little fatter and longer.

But,..with the taxes/cost of them now, now is the time to switch. I agree with jboze about suggesting the Dura-C, 510, Titan, Yeti or Versus. My favorite being the Dura-C because it does not have the led and has warranties on the batteries and atomizers.

As for the clove liquid, I have yet to find a close one. All I have tried, are just a faint hit of clove. I did see a post awhile back with another member saying they had found the perfect match to Djarum. Can't remember which supplier had it. I am sure you can do a search here and find it. I'm a bit skeptical with the link to a perfume company above as I dont see the ingredients listed on the site as to what is in it? Maybe I'm just missing it?

Best of luck to you.

As far as the chuck I have heard great things but for a first e cig I recomend the 510. It is a great starter e cig. Great vapor and flavor plus strong throat hit. As far as clove I am pretty sure Aromaejuice.com has clove liquid. I am very fond of this site they only charge 15 bucks for 30 mls... a great price. all of their liquid I have tried has been good.

I would recomend a 510 first as you can get a kit on cignot.com for 30 bucks or something like that. This would be a good way to see if e smoking is your thing efore you drop 80 on a chuck. I want a chuck i am just a little low on cash at the moment.

Hey I was in the exact same position except started at 20 instead of 16. Smoked Djarum Blacks and Specials pretty regularly and only found out about the ban when they dropped from $9.00 a pack here to $1.50 about a month ago. I hate to say it, but you're not going to ever be able to match the flavor and sensation of a clove cigarette (the faint pops, the harshness of the smoke, et cetera) but you can get close and at the same time have so many other varieties and combinations to choose from! Even more so, that sugary taste of the filter on cloves is semi reproduced with the fact that the liquid itself is semi-sweet.

As others have mentioned the 510 (Joyetech/TECC/Titan/Yeti - they're all the same model: 510) e-Cigarette is the way to go to get started if you don't mind filling your own carts with e-Juice. It produces a great amount of vapor and makes the vapor warm enough to give a good amount of harshness to the vape; solid throat-hit. If you don't mind waiting for the shipping, healthcabin.net has the lowest prices for the 510, matched only by cignot.com as far as I know, but I prefer the former to the latter just because of the one stop convenience.

You did miss it, Agnes. Eugenol is the ingredient. Eugenol is an essential oil made from the distillation of the volatile compounds from clove. Eugenol from a perfume supplier is about as high a quality as you can get...and aside from being used in perfumes, aromatherapy preparations, clove cigarettes, and medicines, it is also used as a flavoring in foods and beverages.

I hope that helps. The stuff is amazing, and a little bit goes a long way.

I am 39 yrs. old and I have been an avid djarum special smoker for a long, LONG time; so long in fact i don't even want to do the math. i am now coming to the bottom of my surplus and know i will run out before i have a chance to do my own research on the e-cig, let alone figure out the correct recipe for a djarum.

I read thru all the previous postings and suggestions and have found myself really conused.

Can any previous avid djarum junkie share w/ me exactly what e-cig they purchased along with the exact oil that they have found to be equivalent to a djarum special (a website would also be helpul). I saw alot of suggestions for the djarum black, but i've never tried one & don't know how different they are from the special.

Thanks!!!!

Hey there, I too (like many others to your reply) was a clove smoker. And like you, I too, only smoked Djarum specials.

And to mention it to you since no one else has, Tasty Vapor has a kretek blend of eliquid that is remarkably similar to Djarum specials in my opinion. I have tried a few other clove eliquids such as Clove essence from eliquidplanet.com which is... good, compared to most. But it is nothing compared to the Kretek blend from Tasty vapor. And I've tried another "clove" flavor from a company who shall not be named. God awful. Aliens couldn't of made a stranger blend and called it "clove" it tasted more like a lemon fragrance, of what I imagine if you were to inhale from a can of Lysol lemon scented cleaner.

Anyway, go check out Tasty Vapor click on nicotine get ya a 24milgram nicotine 20% VG bottle of Kretek (sweetener added).
And get yourself a bottle 40% VG blend doubler blend of Kretek (sweetener added).
You won't regret it.

Cheers.
