after vapeing for 6 months I have decided to go cold turkey. First of all the amount of money spent on Vapeing is equivalent to buying tobacco so no I did not save anything. Also I am so sick and tired of the dam things breaking! I have used Ego batteries passthrus and twists. and if it isnt one thing, its another. Threads get messed up, wont fire ...? I used Cartomizers Redux, and Kangers NONE of which lasted any more that 2 weeks. if the outer shell didnt break, the inner tube did. NOT to mention the juices are dam expensive, AND get boring after a while which leads to buying more juices more $$$. Sorry I just dont want to be involved with it anymore and so I have quit vapeing, and quit smoking. I would have put my e-cigs on Ebay for sale but they are all broken

Well normally i would say thats great if you can quit all together..but..clearomizers are not the only way to vape..there are so many options don't you wanna try something different...like...bottom feeders...they are as set and forget system you will ever have..i've been using VMod XL for the past 6 months and no troubles or frustration to report...or maybe try RBAs or RDAs...just saying clearomizers are not the only thing in vaping

lol look after your gear better then and a 30ml juice costs a pack of analogs and lasts a week for me. must be cause im used to being a work man why I look after my gear and threads, I always went by the saying a good craft mans looks after his tools. being a mechanic im used to being careful with threads and take care of things and like to take things apart. vapeing can be costly but only if you want it too be, doesnt need to if you buy good enough gear/juices and be careful. :):):)

If you can quit alltogether thats great but its alot cheaper then analogs any day. if you dont need it then thats great and i would say go for i, no point vapeing if you dont need it but many do and keep going because they like it. must not be for you but.. :):):):)

Welcome! :D

It's hard to believe, at 8$ a pack, that you didn't save money after 6 months, but the best of us do get carried away at first. I broke even just from buying a starter kit!

I use Halo Triton, a solid supplier, right in your home state. They're vGo threaded, but the quality is solid, the tanks have replaceable atomizers, and they're really easy to clean. They also have a line of sophisticated flavors that are very satisfying.

If you've been successful in quitting completely, then congratulations!

Seriously though, sorry to hear about your frustrations with vaping. Although, it sounds like you continually bought and re-bought poor gear or gear that you didn't understand how to take care of/service properly.

The initial start-up costs for ecigs can be high, especially if you dont know where to look for deals and buy overpriced starter kits, cig-a-likes, kiosk units. Theres no reason quality equipment should be failing every 2 weeks, heads yes, but quality tanks, no. DIY juices at <.10c a ml are easily doable, and many online vendors are quite reasonable, you dont have to vape boutique juices or B&M overpriced stuff. 30ml of acceptable dekang/liqua juices are ~$5 on FT.

Vaping is not without its maintenance/headaches, but the minor extra effort is worth it to be not smoking.

Anyways, i wish you the best of luck going cold turkey as that's obviously the healthiest path, but if tempted to return to the analogs, please reconsider vaping.

Uh - yeah. Man, I hate to see you go, but you were never really here. LOL Just kidding.

I think you might be looking for a little help in staying with it, and I can contribute to that. If you can quit altogether though, that's great! I just had a friend that was on e-cigs for some time. I finally got in on it myself and now he's on the way out. I was hoping to be able to pick his brain and talk about all of the different options and such, but now he doesn't even want to talk about it. Oh well.

I'm sorry about your frustrations with equipment. I use cartomizers, and they work for me. They aren't the fancy stuff people are using now, but they work. And, there's very little to go wrong. Many still use them, and they are cheap. Buy blanks and fill them yourself.

As far as flavors - if you're smoking cigarettes you really have no options so that's not even an argument. Yeah, there's a few variation here and there, but it's all tobacco. With vaping, you can 'smoke' pretty much anything you want. Running out of flavors is really the last thing that I would expect to hear from someone wanting out.

I support your efforts 100% though. Inhaling nothing but air is really the way to go if you can. :toast:

I would have to say most of your problems are:
A: trying a ton of things
B: buying chinese mass produced crap
C: not learning how to make your own juices.

I been at it a year and a half now and saves literally 1000's of dollars.
the savings increases exponentially once i quit playing with cheap chinese disposables. and easily tripled once i started DIY juice

From the looks of it you just wanted to vent. I'm sure your very frustrated without any nicotine and I'm sorry vaping failed but for me its become more of an enjoyable hobby than the nasty bad habit of smoking. Yes I spend too much because I can't get enough. :/....if I could've quit cold Turkey I would have but I tried and failed many times. So good for you but no need to bash vaping just because you had a bad experience with bad equipment. :/

Dude, you could have at least checked in here maybe even a year after you joined to ask for some help! Now your first post is to tell us you give up!? If you want to of course that's your choice. But you coulda asked a question - even once...

Give it a shot. But please remember you do have options this time other than going back to smoking.

It's at moments like these that I would probably have meself a good vape, a deep breath (which I can now do thanks to vaping and not smoking)...

Sorry to hear the experience was bad for you. I don't really have hard numbers on what I've saved since beginning this new adventure something like maybe 6 weeks ago, but at $9.50 a day for what I used to smoke, I'm pretty sure vaping is a better option for me financially.

Of course, I didn't really do this for the finances. I did it because I couldn't breathe well anymore. I did it because all the carbon monoxide and other chemicals in analog cigarettes were making me lethargic and sick.

I stick with it because it turns out, breathing rocks. I feel so much better since making the switch. That in itself is priceless imho.
I like that I don't smell like an ashtray. I like that my mouth doesn't taste like an ashtray.

Since starting, I started with a 2.4% nic juice and have now switched to 1.8%. It has been painless, completely. I'm looking forward to going to 1.2% in due time, comfortably and naturally. I honestly have tried so many other things to get away from cigarettes and absolutely nothing has worked like this.

If you have reached the point where you feel you can stay away from cancersticks without needing to vape, than that's awesome man! Mission accomplished!

I use an Innokin MVP boxmod which feels pretty sturdy. I'm very gentle and careful with my iClear30. I treat it as if my life depended on it (kinda does actually). I've found juices from Johnson Creek to be great quality and while the prices are not the cheapest, every minute I prolong my life by not having a cigarette is definitely worth it, and it is actually still cheaper for the rate I vape.

Best of luck to you man! I hope we'll get some more posts from you down the road. This has been an extremely welcoming and helpful community for me thus far. I'd encourage you to lean on it when needed.

I am so sorry to hear that you had a rough time with your choices. I'm sure after you calmed down, that you may consider continuing on with this, maybe with help from people here. I hear you with your frustration, first post or not, at least you came here and expressed yourself, and i have to say you got some good feedback, so not so good feedback but no one is the same right?

I'm new here. I just registered today, and I'm just feeling things out, seeing what people have to say. Someone mentioned that they hope a newbie doesn't seen this post, but believe me your title stuck out like a sore thumb. But even so, it didn't make me want to run away, makes me want to know things. So that maybe I don't make the same mistakes.

So far there are things people have mentioned, names of things i have no idea what they are. I was close to getting a kit, but am worried now if it's going to be any good. So you see, seeing your post is helping me, to think more carefully, and I think you for that.

I also have to say, that in the 6 months that you vaped (not sure if that is the term to use) you were healthy, not smoking regular cigarettes, and that in itself is something to be proud of. I really hope you reconsider if quitting cold turkey doesn't work out for you.

I think everyone will be here to help you. It seems like people are nice here. I'm sure there are a few exceptions, but no one is perfect right? You needed to vent, and you did. Now maybe all the feedback, will make you reconsider.

I hope whatever you decide, it makes you happy. Thanks for sharing and take care
