You said your looking for sympathizers for your vape device shopping habit.. but, we are all different people and as such, have different ways of dealing with life, therefore, where your at in vaping might not be where someone else is at, and your personality different than what someone else's is..
I started vaping to stop smoking. In my first year I went through different stages.. first, I had the vape stuck to my mouth 24/7, probably literally.. it was what kept me from putting a cigarette to my lips.
Slowly but surely, I needed it less and less til one point a year in, my battery went on the fritz and I decided I didn't need to vape anymore. I then threw everything vape related out that I owned, in order to make the break easier.
Two weeks in, I wanted to vape and had nothing, and I wanted to bad enough to grab one of my husband's cigarettes and light up. One cigarette led to another, which led to a pack, which led to a carton, and back to smoking I was. At the point I realized this was stupid when all I needed to do was buy vaping gear again.. I went out and replaced everything I had thrown away and got back off the cigarettes.
That first year of vaping my total expenditure on everything related to vaping - including all the e juice I bought and used in the entire year - was 310 dollars.
A few months after picking vaping back up, I decided I was in it for life in order to keep off the smokes, so I decided to see what was on the market that could improve my experience, and found this forum through Google.
After I came here I won a couple of contests and got some shiny new gear. The first one I didn't care for, the second I liked. But for normal daily use had only made a couple small changes in my vaping habits.
When August the 8th came around and I found out about all the changes, I got scared.. vaping was the only thing keeping me off the smokes, and I saw the possibility of it going away. It was at that time I felt like an addict.. and I didn't like that feeling. So I decided to try once more to quit vaping..
And that time, I succeeded. I didn't vape for 5 months, and was fine.. I had a day where I had a weak moment and wanted to vape, and so I got out my packed away gear and vaped that day, and have ever since..
But this time, I know I can walk away, I don't feel like some kind of an addict who is about to loose their fix. I feel like I can take vaping or leave it as I choose.. and that is where I personally need to be.
We are all different people, in the end, it's as an other poster mentioned, it's whatever keeps you off the smokes, and whatever makes you happy.. and if your happy shopping and buying gear.. go for it. It's your life, and your own peace of mind.
Personally, I'm stocking up for the possible vapocalyse, not just for me, but for those near me who might need help in the future.. and if the vapocalyse never comes, that's okay too.. I'll never have to buy gear again for the rest of my life, unless I want to.. and I still have stuff to give away to potential quitters.. and that is cool..
I wish you the best of luck, and hope you have a blast - and stay off the smokes!
