And I am posting here, because after this I will have to post four more times before I'm a real people.

I have recently given up on my pro tank 3 and have decided to step up to a big boy tank. I have ordered a kraken and a kraken clone (the clone mostly out of curiosity, and for ten bucks I can afford to be curious). I have tried to find exactly what I need via google but have been unsuccessful. This forum seemed very friendly, knowledgeable, and safety oriented.

I'll meet you guys once I'm a real people. Four more posts...

I have a k100 and a Tesla mod. I've found the pro tank to be really convenient, but I don't feel I get enough vapor/flavor from it until I turn up to 3.6 volts, once I pass 3.5 the liquid starts to discolor and taste burnt.

3 more posts.

1. How often do you replace or "dry burn" your current coil?
2. Do you have the flavor/vapor issue (at 3.6volts) on a new coil? Does this happen with all your e-liquid?
3. What type of e-liquid are you vaping? i.e. sweet, fruit, tobacco, etc.
4. What is the ohm of your coil?

Welcome!

You might need to get a different brand for the juice's flavor you're looking for. However, I like my vanilla juice, and I know, it's gumming up the coil(s) real quick (max. 5 days of use), giving this burned taste. Therefore, I was using my PT2, rather than my PT3, both w/ air flow control. In addition, I started building my own coils w/ a cotton wick, which also improved the flavor.

Protank 3 sits well above my Tesla, could this be an airflow issue?

I mean, I get my kraken in the next few days so getting my pro tank worked out isn't really my intention. I'm more hoping for help on how to build it, I have never set one up before.

When answering those questions, we'd be able to provide better advice to you.

Google is your friend. I found 3 videos by using the search "how to build a coil for the kraken".

I've been replacing them every ten days or so. A new coil seems to help, but only for a little while. I never dry burn it.

Dark sweet e-liquid will "gunk" up a coil very, very fast leading to poor performance (burnt taste/lack of vapor). I usually "dry burn" my coils after a couple of tanks when vaping these type of e-liquids. Here is a video on how to do this. How to Clean & Dry Burn... Kanger ProTank II & Mini ProTank II, Kanger Coils

I also rebuild all my Kanger coils and replace the stock wick with cotton -- much better performance. Mini Protank Micro Coil Rebuild

Another improvement I have made is to replace my Protank base with an Aerobase. More airflow = less burnt taste = more vapor.
