How many hours a day do moderator have to stay on the forum. I assume this is a nonpaying job. What constitues closing a thread. Why can some people use suggestions of bad language and others get a warning.
Is I fun being a moderator. How do you become one?
Wow... a lot of questions... let's see what I can do.
How many hours a day? It varies. Some folks like me spend way too much time here, others spend a few hours a day.
Yes, it's a non-paying job. We're volunteering our time.
Closing a thread... lots of reasons for this. Could be that folks go overboard with it, could be because of the subject matter, could be because the person who posted the thread wanted to close it. There are many reasons.
As far as "Why can some people use suggestions of bad language and others get a warning?" is concerned... well, we can't see everything. If people find an offensive post, they should report it for the moderators to take a look at. Sometimes we will catch it on our own, but we also have to rely on the community to help out.
Is it fun? It's mostly boring, and it's work. There are times when it's fun, though.
How to become a moderator? We're picked by the admin staff for one reason or another, such as being very helpful to others, or experience with forum management. It really depends.
Hope that answers your questions.
