Howdy folks,

I can't contain my excitement and I figure it's about time for a first post.

I have smoked cigarettes regularly for about five years now. Thought about quitting, but I have no interest in foregoing the pleasure of nicotine... the health risks sure are compelling though.

Of course I heard all about the E-Cig; as a lot of you at one point probably also did, I mainly dismissed it as not possibly as effective as a cigarette. About a month ago, I went to visit my friend in the hospital. His wife had just had a baby. I walk into the room there, and he's vaping on a Joye device. He and I lived together in college and smoked together a lot, and he had a hell of a lot more experience with it than I did. So, I sat there and vaped with him and was completely astonished.

I saw him last weekend; ordered my own vaper kit and some juices. I borrowed a SmokeStik from him and used it over the past week. Smoked four real cigarettes too (was at about 1/2pack a day), but the flavor and effect of a camel light is just no longer attractive to me. I feel healthier than I have in years and am excited about doing some running this year without hacking my lungs out.

Thursday was frustrating because I received the juice I had ordered but nothing to smoke it with! Today, however, my life completely changed: I received my Joye eGo-T tank kit in the mail, along with some drip tips.

I have quite a few friends that smoke and am planning on letting all of them try it. (Like I said, I got multiple drip tips!) I plan to get them all to start vaping and give up smoking. WOOOOO!!!!

Absolutely... enjoying right now actually :) I have some friends coming over tomorrow for the super bowl, and they will have to go outside to smoke (it's rather cold here), but they can try vaping inside the house if they would like!

Also, I've been reading through the forums and have seen several mentions of drinking a lot of water. Glad I saw this because this week I was a bit worried about my throat getting so dry. I *have* been drinking more water just out of necessity, but I will try to be more conscious about it now. More water never hurt anybody anyway. Does your body get used to the PG or is this just something that comes with vaping?

It just comes with vaping. The liquid bases are humectants so they draw out the liquid from your body --must replenish.

Hi yawbus,

I was turned on to e cigs by a fellow at work. And since it helped him stop smoking
I figured that I'd try it also. I was able to stop right when I bought mine! I smoked off
and on the past 20 + years and for the last 2 smoked (and inhaled) cigars....

It's amazing how useful this thing actually is. I've lurked on here for some time now
and have read some great advice as to how to clean cartomizers and reuse them.
My friend at work still struggles with analogs but I've found I no longer need them.

The people at work that do smoke besides my friend and I where so astonished that
I could quit so easily are now ordering up kits for themselves!

One thing I have found though, is that once I started filling my own carto's I'm really
leaning toward the candy flavors instead of the tobacco flavorings.

That is SO awsome! Sounds just like my story -- phase 1: try something, ... phase 2: find something that really works, phase 3: tell the world! phase 4: buy enough product to help friends out!

Congrats on your decision to quit, your life will never be the same. And, good luck on your newfound evangelical career!

It's funny, I don't remember ever going around telling everybody how great cigarettes were. Or hanging out on a cigarette forum, or constantly looking to see what's new and exciting about Marlboros ;-)

LOL! Ain't that the truth??

Excellent - congrats! It's funny, I don't remember ever going around telling everybody how great cigarettes were. Or hanging out on a cigarette forum, or constantly looking to see what's new and exciting about Marlboros ;-)

THIS makes me laugh! Although I do get a birthday card from Marlboro every year, which I always found to be sadistically ironic.
