Howdy folks,

So, as the title sez, bought 2 of these COV Gen 1 rebuildables for my first go around. I've seen there are about 100 different videos on building wicks and setting up rebuildables, so which of these videos would y'all say are the best to follow? Like I said, 1st attempt, yes I'm a rebuildable virgin.

Any tips would be appreciated to go along with the vids you would follow.

thanks guys,

Big Mac

Howdy folks,

Well, it was not difficult at all to setup the first one (haven't had time to setup the other). The video you linked up TC made it simple. I did cut the base of the wick at a diagonal and I did oxidize the entire wick. Figured as a beginner better safe than sorry. Was surprised as it was quite easy. I'm gonna redo it sometime this week if I find time, want to add a few more wraps to the coil.

Taste is good, but not excellent, that's one of the reasons I want to rewrap it, see if that changes anything. The only thing I find not to my liking, i can't see how much juice is left! Yeah, I tasted the difference when it got low, but I would rather be ready with a juice bottle waiting than wait for the bells and whistles to go off telling me it's time to refill.

With that in mind, I checked around. COV sez no clear tanks for them. IBTanked has a glass tank, but per the pic, it's a lot thicker than the device so doesn't really look like it belongs. Anyone out there made a syringe body tank for one of these? I'm on a quest now to find something that will work and look good at the same time. If anyone has done one, would like to hear about it. I'm going on a search thru the forum now to see what I can find. Any other ways to put a clear tank on one of these?

Thanks folks,

Big Mac

COV 1 with a custom beveled glass tube from IBT.

If you're not getting the flavor, it probably isn't wicking fast enough for your taste. (Provided you let the wick break in) Make sure the fill screw is off, the wick isn't too snug in its hole, and your coils are good.

Howdy Under......

Geezzz, how in the hell did I miss it on Erics site. I sent out an email to him today to see if my Old Man eyes simply missed it. Thanks for the link.

and TC, now I feel like a real goof, dont know how I missed the beveled tank at IBTanked, that tank looks too cool.

God...I must be getting old....

I've made syringe tanks for 5 of my DiDalikes. Pretty easy. 12 ml syringe from Tractor supply. Measure the exact length of the chrome tube that comes with the unit; and cut the syringe tube exactly the same. The best way to cut is to use a tubing cutter, like the kind used for cutting copper pipe. Slide a socket inside the syringe, before cutting, so that the tubing cutter has something solid to cut against. Carefully clean out the burr from inside the plastic, after cutting, with a hobby knife. When installing on the tank ends, put a couple drops of PG or VG on the o rings, to lubricate the plastic tube, and reassemble. The graduations on the outside of the syringe tube will eventually wear off.
