After hearing many stories of pawn DT's getting broke it finally happened to me.

I've had pawns for almost a year, 8 of them to be exact.

But last night with too many people in our house the dogs went crazy and my oak woodvil went flying across the tile floor. Woodvil is fine but my bumble bee yellow pawn snapped right off.

RIP bumble bee, I will miss you! I couldn't count how many times you must have touched my lips.

For a long time, I only used nickel plated copper and stainless steel drip tips. I bought some acrylic and some derlin tips one day and I liked some of them better so they supplanted my metal ones.

I was in the habit of just tossing my drip tips in to a pot of boiling water once and a while for sterilization and cleaning. - Well, derlin gets grey streaks and blotches and loses its smooth texture - and acrylic turns smokey and also develops a coarse texture when boiled. 10 ruined drip tips in one shot.

I bought a couple of glass drip tips. I liked them as much as everyone else does... The neighbors 6 year old came whipping in to my drive way and crashed in to me from behind on his bicycle just as I was taking a vape. I smacked in to the open hood of the car I was working on, the tip hit my front teeth and broke off. - The neighbors kid was uninjured but scared - my teeth were in tact (which I am incredibly grateful for) - and the broken glass in my mouth convinced me I should go back to acrylic, but remember never to boil them.

I really like those glass drip tips, and the remaining one still gets used (indoors at my desk), but those are just too fragile to exist in my normal environments when I'm away from the house.
