So I was bored this morning, and decided to twist up this little ....**. I have to say this was prob the most tedious build I have done to date on this, took me maybe 2 hours to wrap, quench, repoisition, trim, 1 piece wick (My hands were to sore to tuck the cotton behind the + leads, but im not sure if it matters), and wanted to share. Dual Micro Vertical Micro coils on the Veritas! Clocked in right at .87ohm. You may ask why the micro coils, well, I prefer my vapes in the 1-1.4ohm range, so it had to be done! I started with 10/11 wraps PER coil around a 3/32nd peice of weld wire, and had to loose maybe 1 wrap per because I needed to trim my leads to quench the coils multipe times to avoid shorts. (No, the + lead on the right coil is not ontop of the nut, not sure what that is) 3rd coil build. Have some ribbon wire otw, and I will build a dual tiger coil next in the same ohm range if its possible! Total PITA! Anyway, on to the pictures!

I love the Veritas but hated the dual coil build. I got it down to about 15 minutes but it just was to much of a PITA. My hands are not large but man the space is tight on this dripper. In the end I just went to a vertical that I knock out in a couple minutes that gives me great flavor and vapor production. 28 ga around a 3/32 mandrel. 10 wraps @ 1.2 ohms. I'll use the same build down to .6 ohms and it's solid.

Well crap lol. Rain on my parade! Haha
It's a tough job... but someone has to do it. ;-)

Seriously... doing a nice looking dual single wire coil build on a Veritas is tough. If I didn't have OCD with this sort of thing, it wouldn't matter - but I guess the side benefit is the jig actually makes building quicker and easier... at least for me.

Now you have me thinking of building one of those jigs and trying a dual again. Damn you Flux :)
If you have a drill press and a small chunk of hardwood (or aluminum or plastic, if you're feeling extra fancy)... it takes about 5 minutes.
I suppose you'd add a few minutes extra for eyeballing, holding and cussing... if you're using a hand drill.

I've made 8 of them now so far... the last 3 for friends who handed me "alternate" chunks of material for the holder block. One anodized aluminum triangle, one graphite round bar stock... and one from a crazy Australian Banksia seed pod that had been turned into a handle shape... just like the one in this photo.

I don't know what I'll get next... a rattlesnake skull perhaps? :p
