yeah I can rap around the the little things you see in the picture,but when I go to put the coil into the post is where the trouble starts because they're so tiny to hold and try to get it straight.

Have you tried to to just lay it there and get the coil snug then worry about adjusting it after its snug? I rarely get my coils placed where I want them first time. I just get it close, then I nudge it where I want. Then I fully tighten. I just snug it enough to not slip out of the posts.

I leave the coil on the mandrel until I get it mounted and then use the mandrel to manipulate my coil to the position I want. Once satisfied, simply remove the mandrel.
mounted,meaning the coil has already been screwed on to the post then remove the mandrel and then adjust you're cool to where you want it to be! ok keep the mandrel with the coil inside then adjust.

Yep. Just use the mandrel through the coil to adjust it. When it is where you want it, remove and pulse fire and work out the hot spots by pulse firing and squeezing the coil. If the coil moved any, reinsert the mandrel and adjust it where you want it.
started over again on the magma was shooting for 1.5 ohms,I'm getting there.I was using 26 gauge 2mm mandrel. 18 wraps.

Looking better. I personally think that's a whole lot of wraps, but That's just me. I would try maybe some 28 or 30 awg wire with less wraps to reach that resistance but make the length of the coil a little smaller. Reason why I say that, is simply due to the leg you have on top of the coil crossing it.
This build is 6 wraps of 28 awg around a 2mm mandrel. It meters in at 1.3 ohms. I built this one this morning on an APO clone. If you were shooting for 1.5 ohms, maybe try 7 or 8 wraps of the 28, but if you prefer the 26, maybe try one with about 10-12 wraps. Should put you 1.3-1.5 ohm.

I thought it looked like a helluva lot of wraps myself.
The build in my image above was 7 wraps of 26g around an approximate 2mm mandrel coming out to .86Ω per coil.

I simply put in the information and that's what it told me to do was 18 wraps,26 gauge wire 2mm mandrel.forget that spreadsheet thing I was using I'm going to drop it down to around 10 wraps and see what I come up with.

You're using steam-engine? It's usualy pretty close for me. Consistent 2 wraps higher than I use, but never as many as yours. Did you change the leg length and you did select single coil?
I did pick single coil...but I did not change the leg length.I'm trying to build something between 2 and 2.5 ohms 26 gauge is what I'm working with I have 30,what length should I choose.
If you want 2.5, I'd go with about 10 of 30awg. Should be pretty close with 2mm mandrel. I haven't built that high for a while now. Not since my first few Kangertech coils.
I was aiming for 2.5 ohms..unbelievable happy happy! and getting faster now it's time to wick/juice and test the waters.

Way to go! Wicking is a whole different animal itself. No where close to as hard as coils, but there is a finess to it also. I'm still learning lots of new ways for wicking myself.

However, see that air hole to the right of your coil? Your coil should be directly over that air hole. Otherwise you may get some fairly hot hits. Luckily, it looks like you left enough of the leads sticking out of the back side to move it over a bit.

My advice for what it's worth .... Wrap your coil / coils around a larger mandrel so you will need less wraps.
For a 2.4mm inside coil diameter, use a 3/32" drill bit
For a 2.8mm inside coil diameter, use a 7/64" drill bit
You will need less wraps of your coil to get the desired ohms .... and a larger inside coil diameter is easier to install wicking in too.
Just my opinion ....
