Hey everyone. I'm having a helluva time deciding between getting an Omega or an SB. I quit smoking back in Nov of last year and I've been using an eGo, but I'm ready for something bigger and better.

I've done some research on both mods and me and my partner have You Tubed the heck out of them, too. I think I'm definitely leaning towards a Silver Bullet. And I'm trying to talk Shellie (VanderVape here on ECF) into the Omega.

Her birthday is coming up real soon...she's going to turn 40 and I want her to get a mod she'll be thrilled to death to own. She's been humming and hawing around getting an Infinity, but already there's been a couple issues with it we've been reading about.

Thanks for "listening"! :p

I have to suggest the SB as well. I like both but the one fact that swung me to the SB was the Omega is not pocket or purse friendly. It can and has gone off while in my pocket or my wife's purse, just because that top switch can get depressed. The SB has it's switch indented and it is more difficult to have it go off in a pocket.

I have both.
The Omega is a better form factor and feels nice in the hand.
The Omega requires just a little bit of thumb strength to operate if you vape often and constantly.
The Omega pretty much has one method/position to fire it -- with your thumb.
The Omega can be good for whistle tipped attys/cartos -- orient whistle tip to mouth and the "button" is right there under your thumb.
The Omega is not pocket friendly -- you can get something to clip in there or a grommet or rubber band type of fix but then you have to remove the "safety" device before using it.

The SB is bigger -- not much physically but it looks and feels larger than the actual difference.
The SB can be fired with thumb, any of a couple of fingers, thumb knuckle, second or third pad of fingers, etc.
The SB is still very pocket friendly.
The SB has that incredibly silky smooth button - you end up just fingering the button all the time (it's therapeutic).
The SB button is "positional" -- the button has to be oriented under whatever you're going to push it with. If you use whistle tipped type of mouth pieces, when the whistle tip is aligned with your lips the button might be rotated "over there"... Not a real problem but can be slightly annoying.

Both of them are rock solid and will last a lifetime. It's hard to imagine there could be much to a battery holder with a button but there is a lot of design that doesn't meet the eye. Chad had done a wonderful job using the best quality materials with impecable manufacture.

Currently I am using a Genisis mod. It's a tank type "atomizer" holding about 3 ml and it's 20.5 mm in diameter. With the Omega it covers the top so there is no ledge to put your thumb on to fire it.

Have you considered the BB? It does use the smaller 14500 battery but it is very discreet both in carry and in use. Also has an amazingly pleasing button. The BB is more on the pocket friendly side than not. Pocket friendly but not on the same level as the SB. Same incredible level of design and quality as the Omega and SB.

How about 1 SB, 1 Omega, 1 BB?
I believe I prefer my SB over my Omega (especially with the tank I'm using now).
I use the BB at the office where it's inconspicuous in a pocket (even in a dress shirt pocket).

Congrats on your quithood!

If I was FORCED to choose my favorite it'd be the Silver B. The Omega is an elegant (even stylish) device and the Silver Bullet is and will always be a classic. For some reason I can't begin to explain, the stolid Silver Bullet is the one of the two I use most. Go figure.

My manly Silver Bullet is currently wearing a Clearomizer filled with Bubble Gum. And, I'm actually in this forum right now because I got to thinking, Wouldn't a pink SB be awesome??

Edit: Should've read the whole thread! lol I got the blue Omega and , trust me, you'll be the envy of any vape meet. Blue Omegas love riding in purses (little known fact) and cup holders whereas the Omega likes a warm pocket and the door handle. ENJOY that Omega!

Well, I just checked on AltSmoke's site and the SB is out of stock. I'm not getting one till March so I sure hope Rob has them in by then. I'll be ordering one...hopefully a black one...at the beginning of the month. *crosses fingers*

I bet he has one by then. Great choice!

Not to throw a wrench in your thought process, but I own an SB and two BB's. I alternate use of the BB's everyday and use the SB seldom. I just like the size and the battery of the BB better. A BB with a 2 Ohm soft tip carto, my favorite juice, and I am set.

I gotta say if I love my Omega as much as I think I am going to, there's nothing keeping Kat and I from not owning one of each of Altsmokes Pvs. :)
