So I have tried some vg based juice and some pg/vg based juice and I can't seem to get a full flavour satisfaction. I use a variable voltage( just three settings) 750mah battery and cartomizers(1.8ohm), vivi nova mini, ce3 clearomizer, ego tank system. I have tried different combos of volts and ohms and still can't find the sweet spot. I haven't smoked for a loooooog time and so my taste buds are not an issue. I vape because I have always missed the feel of smoking. I just ordered an itaste mvp in hopes that more control over my volts can help me get the more intricate flavour notes that I hear everyone else describing in their reviews.Anyone have some tips for me?

Where are you getting your juice from and what flavors do you enjoy? I can tell you right off the bat that the Ego tank is garbage in terms of flavor.

Personally I don't think its a wattage issue unless you are also unsatisfied with the vapor production. I find that if the vapor production is high, turning the voltage up only makes the flavor taste slightly burnt. The type of carto/atty makes a big difference, as does the juice itself of course. PG is the best base for flavor.

I can't stand menthol cigarettes, would vaping menthol be the same?

I found smoking and vaping 2 entirely different creatures. After I got my nicotine fix, what really it is all about, I found the old rules didn't apply. After trying many juices, and I mean MANY, I realized that tobacco really didn't have to be in the picture! Of the myriad of ADV juices that I now prescribe to, only 1 is a tobacco flavoured juice.

The short and the long of it ... I don't believe that vaping menthol would be the same as smoking menthol cigarettes :)

You can buy methol juice without tobacco flavouring.

Spearmint, Wintergreen, Peppermint and similar flavours are available as well.

I'm still having taste issues 3 1/2 weeks off of analogs. Mint type e-juices are
the only ones that seem to punch through for me.

I think it's the fault of the juice and/or your delivery system. I use a ProTank Mini, and glass tanks just have a bit less flavor - it's there, but it's never overpowering. On certain juices, I get next to no flavor or burnt flavor if I turn up the voltage too high, and I put that on the juice.

Apparently, the flavor out of rebuildable atomizers is far superior, but I haven't tried one myself. Looks like a project worth looking into sometime in the future, since I just bought an APV and want to experiment with some cheap mech mods (that Chi You clone looks wonderful). We'll see how well the the iClear 30's do when I get my iTaste SVD in the mail.

I got some peppermint... added it to my chocolate vape that I couldn't taste really, and was able to taste the peppermint... but only for a while...
after vaping for an hour I stopped really tasting it. it was like it was there... if I really looked for it...
but it wasn't really noticeable any more...

Stay in a stinky room long enough and you can't smell it any more. It's the same with vaping. Some people will rotate their juice, others find their ADV in a juice that they can still taste and enjoy after getting accustomed to it.

Personally I was tired of the flavor roller coaster and messing up my tongue.

yeah the thing is I have a great palette because I haven't touched an analog for 6 years, and I get little to no taste on the first drag which doesn't really change. I vape night shift expecting doughnut and coffee and I get a bit of sweetness on my tongue with a hint of maybe a batter taste. I don't get the full flavour profile of the juice. OH well my MVP should be here soon and hopefully being able to tune in my volts will help with the lacklustre flavour. I thank you all for your answers.

I read in another thread on another site.... that using a tongue brush to brush you tongue would help...
SO I bought one this morning... no change but I got a lot of crud off my tongue....
also eating spicy food, Pepperoni, or jalapeno peppers help as well.
tonight I'm off to get some peppers. I'll keep posting back on my results.

I've found method of delivery to be the most important factor here.

For months I thought I had ruined my taste buds, but couldn't understand why, when it came to food, I seemed to still have very sensitive and refined taste buds.

Then I tried a dripper (Ego-L)

There is no comparison... Every other device I've used (Evod, Protank, T2) mutes the flavor TREMENDOUSLY.

I've moved to recoiling and making small modifications to my tank systems and this improved the flavor, but still not close to dripping.

I also tried a Cisco LR atomizer, but that was no good for me.

Dripping. Try it :)

I have a dripper on order from FastTech... I should have it in a month... or two? who knows how long it will take.

I also have a 510 Atomizer, that I tried dripping on... haven't quite got the hang of it... I either flood it and it leaks down into my battery, or I get dry hits... Not every time mind you... lot of times I get good hits...
but I find it a bit of a pain... having to constantly drip.
I just use it to try my new flavors.

more fluids!
a dry mouth = weak taste buds

too much spicy and salty foods over time kills your taste buds as well, alcohol has the same affect.

and not being a smoke makes no difference... your taste buds still have to adjust to this new form of flavour(vapor)

you will eventually get there.

and if that isnt the issue, look at what your putting your juice into...
a carto still has a carto taste, regardless if it is on a mechanical or on a provari.....
this applies to all, if you have a crappy ally/carto/tank then the flavour reflects it.

the VIVI models and CE# never did it for me, there are many good options out there that arent expensive rebuildables,
(i wont touch the china knockoffs, once you see blue anodizing on your wicks, its game over)
you just have to find what works for you...

But I love spicy food...
I eat hot peppers with everything.

Which, sad to say, is likely a big part of your problem. Spicy foods are very intense flavours, and your body builds up an immunity of sorts. If you're used to eating very rich and/or spicy foods, everything else will taste bland and washed out in comparison.

The vape should taste like the juice. if you put a small dab (like half a drop) on your tongue, and you can't taste it, don't expect to taste it when you vape. I've found very few juices that actually increase their flavour profile when vaporized. in most cases the flavour will be slightly less depending on what atty/carto/tank system you are using.

For the iClear 30's. These are pretty decent tanks, but I personally find that top-coil cartos with long wicks tend to mute flavour as they don't wick the flavouring as well as the actual PG/Nic. I prefer bottom coils for this reason as they tend to be more consistent in flavour from start to finish.

I've found dripping is ALWAYS the best way to test a juice simply because there's so much less to go wrong. Proper wicking, airflow, etc are all almost a non-issue, but dripping is a serious PITA to do all the time.

Also, as others have posted, it's very important to keep drinking lots of fluids. E-liquid dehydrates your mouth and flavour intensity will seriously drop if you're not getting enough fluids. Chain vaping will also cause a decrease in flavour simply because your body becomes used to the flavour over time. Put the PV down for an hour and come back to it and it will be more intense as a result.
