When I was growing up, we always used to do jigsaw puzzles at Christmas time as a family (probably because we got jigsaw puzzles as Christmas presents). I have a rather large family. Any way, we'd get about 99% through the puzzle, and then we'd run out of pieces.

See, everyone wanted to put the last piece into the puzzle, so we'd all secretly stash away a piece or two. Then would come the long, drawn-out drama. Everyone playing "chicken", waiting for the next person to fold (hence the wisdom in se......g more than one piece, so you could "give in" without giving up!

Anyway, I suspect that when we get near 99, the posting rate is going to go through the roof in a very short burst.....

ETA: The ECF censors really are funny sometimes! The ...... above comes from the word "secret ing"!
And DARNIT! Knew I should have done a shorter post. Oh well, nobody's reading this anyways, don't know why I bother.

Yes, some of the longer threads can be daunting, and may ramble on for days (or weeks or months or a year, lol) but most are at least entertaining.
