Entire thread read before posting?

Simple query - Do you read a thread from the op to the last post before offering a comment or advice? I myself do make a concerted effort to read all other thoughts or views before adding my own 2¢. I know for a fact I was not diligent as to this behavior when I first began posting here when I joined last fall. Many times I will add short suggestions often followed by a link as to where to more info may found. Time and again I find my own and other member replies reiterated or ignored by subsequent posters who have undoubtedly just read the op and immediately post their opinion with complete disregard for those who took the time to read said thread through to the end. This again happened today with a 50 minute window from my post to the next by a high posting member(followed by some innocuous edit). I'm talking general discussion here not the "Outside" where I know I have not exactly been convivial - at least they read everyones viewpoint(if you choose to argue - need ammo). I come here not to whine but to ask for common courtesy You want to be heard? We all do. Hear and listen to everyone else. My 2¢

If I'm going to post I read it. Well there are a few famous threads around here that I haven't read every post and will post in.

That's what I try to do as well. Admittedly though, I do sometimes skip to the end and post. I usually only do that if there's in the 20's or more of pages, and when I do I try to mention that I am doing it and may have missed a point...

If it's a "what do YOU like?" type thread not necessary unless you don't want to post a repeat or if you do want to say "I agree with ____" otherwise it's a good idea. I can understand though if a thread is pages deep and someone in in a rush that the temptation to just post and hope it's valid is there. I've done this and sometimes been okay other times not. Generally it's better to read em all.

I like to read them all the way through, you never know what you might learn! And you learn who just likes to post to get there count up, and the people who take the time and only post when they know what they are talking about. I have learned a lot just by reading others thoughts. Just my $.02.

I believe in reading most all post then post but I really don`t read a wall page of text. Short and to the point I read unless it`s fact filled and needs to be involved. If it`s interesting I read it. There will be some of the same views out there. I accept that.

it really depends on the type of thread.... but i typically read the whole thing, unless it's one of those ridiculously long, drawn out, derailed threads... if i'm just commenting in response to the last post, no.
