As a side note, it is interesting to see that someone mentioned, in this very thread, that any thread past X numbers of posts will turn into completely deviant posts and to see he (she) was so right in the very same thread.

You can change how you get the thread posts, in your settings. In Settings, click General Settings, scroll down to Thread Display Options. Under Thread Display Mode, choose Newest First. Then you can go to the last post and read backwards and actually read it in order.



Little nuggets of helpful information can be found in the middle of long threads.

Example, if I'm looking for a specific bit of information, airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow or some such, I've found the answer I'm after is usually in the 1st few responses. Therefore no need to read the remainder of the thread.

I couldn't let go until I did put in my serious bit. It doesn't look like no one other than you and me has any attention span left to even remember if there was a topic on here...

There are many, many threads on ECF where if you want to know what the heck those 300+ posts are about - like this one - read the first page, skip to the last page... You can pretty well understand what may have happened in between without committing to reading further.
