sorry if this is in the wrong forum but I cant post anywhere else at this moment.

why is the FDA trying to ban e-cigs so badly it is healthier then cigarettes in every aspect.
1. It is healthier to the smoker, or vapor for this matter, we dont have to worry about the 4000+ chemicals going into our body's, 51 one of those are known to cause cancer.

2. It is healthier to everyone around us, their is no second hand smoke for anyone else to breath in and there is no more bad smell (besides the sweet good smell from most and smoke stronger smells but those go away in seconds)

3. It is healthier to the environment, when u smoke a cigarette u release many harmful pollutants like carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and ext.

Just those 3 points that iv made the FDA and gov should encourage use of e-cigs to smokers. i know there is more reasons so feel free to list some if you can think of many. I am going to try and convert as many of my smoker friends and family to e-cigs and make this a healthier world.

I totally agree. Only been vaping a short time and I am still amazed at how good I am feeling. I no longer stink, I breathe easier, I will no longer burn clothers/hair and whatever happens to get in the way when you have a cigarette. After a doc appointment today (vaping since last Thursday) the wheezing that has always been heard in my lungs is completely gone. This is the best solution available to smokers and I have tried them all. I don't know what has the FDA in such a yank but I imagine it might have alot to do the tobacco companies, huge profits and power. I really hope we can all make an impact, I really believe this will save lives.

Money, money, money

QFT!

Taxes have something to do with it. Costs less, therefore less taxes out of your pockets.

A lot of e-cigarettes and e-juices are manufactured outside of the US, therefore less money going to tobacco farmers.

I don't think Big Pharma wants a healthy and way more appealing alternative approved that makes their quit-smoking mediatications seem oh so passe.

And don't forget the all mighty tobacco lobbyists! Thank You For Smoking comes to mind as to why these suckers are being demonized.

Why are cigarettes, alcohol and many over-the-counter and prescription pills approved yet lead to the highest rates of death?

MONEY!

The reason is one word: MONEY. It's not regulated to death like analogs are, and big tobacco companies KNOW that ecigs are truly able to be the end of them over time as more and more people get turned on to them. Do they do what any competitor should and break into the market? They could, in a big way. Phillips Morris could develop ecigs as well and make a killing, and that would also "mainstream" ecigs so to speak. No, instead, they hire lobbyists and push the FDA to ban them to eliminate the competition all together. $$$$ That's the end game. The FDA doesn't care about your health anymore than the EPA cares about the environment. Behind everything they do is $$$$.

if they cared so much about money then they would push for a tax on it but they are going straight to banning. the tobacco company's would jump in on this huge oppertunity to make even more money by making there own nic juice.and then everyone would be healthier and happier. now the other reason i think they are doing this is, may i not get stoned to death for mentioning it, is population control it is real and it is happening. the world at this moment is over populated. earth can only hold so many people. i know it sounds ridiculous but it is true.

Follow the money trail and connect the dots:)
1. FDA gets a "cut" of big tobacco's profits. If big tobacco's profits decline they get less money.
2. There are 3 members on the FDA committee that are from big tobacco
3. Big Pharma would lose out on all that money for: NRT's that don't work and Chantix and Wellbutrin that can kill you:vapor::vapor:
It's ALL about the money, nothing to do with people's health:vapor::vapor:

They claim the reason is it is impossible to know/regulate the amount of nicotine you receive from e-cigs. While this is obviously true, I don't see how it could lead to harm unless one disregards common sense and constantly vapes until getting sick. I am inclined to agree with most of the other replies that the FDA has a special interest in the tobacco industry profiting, and most likely puts that ahead of what should be their interest. If the FDA really is concerned with our health, then why do they allow companies to mass produce cigarettes - a product with no benefits or social redeeming value whatsoever, that leads to cancer, emphysema, pregnancy complications, and a multitude of other health problems and sicknesses? Have they not realized cigarettes are bad for people yet? Or is it in their financial interest to keep Big Tobacco going?

It impossible to know/regulate the amount of bleach/insert anything with poison potential here that is legal anyone ingests/breathes/slathers on their body but that doesn't mean everything is banned.
Salt isn't regulated nor is sugar and those things contribute to the deaths of millions of people worldwide every year. That argument is spurious unless any substance capable of causing harm, that is legal, is also regulated.
The reason is money - and not from BT but from BP. If all smokers gave up using tobacco tomorrow there go their smoking cessation profits, with the patches and gums and lethal medicines like chantix that don't actually work long term. They DO work short term - thats the point - you go back to smoking hte try and give up again and spend spend spend on those products.
Cynical? yes - since my eyes were opened thats my new middle name.
