I recently cleaned my 510 atty with a 50/50 solution of bottled water and glycerin. I used a syringe on the battery end to push the solution through. I blew out the excess liquid. I then set them cart side down to dry for like 4 or 5 hours. The problem I encountered is when I use these attys now I get a weird burnt taste. Did I do something wrong? Is this normal? Can it be fixed? Is the atty burnt out? please help.

Hello Youthful, I would try to let it dry a little longer and make sure you prime the wick with 2 or 3 drops of juice. If it doesn't clear up I would just write it off. I don't clean attys anymore for this very reason. They never seem to work the same for me again after I try to clean them. I just keep a good supply around. The cost of attys and juice is small when compared to the cost of cigarettes.
Side note: You are only about a 45 min. drive from me. My wife works for Arbor Hospice on Oak Valley. Small world.

Yeah I'm gonna try it with alcohol and see what happens. I have a 5 pack of atty from TW but the ones I have now I got from cignot and for some reason I feel like they(the cignot ones) produce a warmer fuller hit(maybe I just gotta break in the TW ones though, they just get so hot and too quick b/c I'm a chain vapor). If they can't be saved though then whatever, I'll just take it as paying for a lesson.

@mistinthewoods yeah it definitely a small world. Your not that far from me at all. I moved out to Washtenaw county for school then got a job out here. I like the area, it's pretty chill. Started vaping when that passed the no smoking indoors ban, but in hind sight I'm glad they did b/c vaping has saved my lungs.

I've used everclear to clean mine before.

+1.

Just a guess, but you got too much glycerin in them now. Yeah, I know, a lot of e-juice is glycerin. Soak in PGA for a bit and try again.

I hardly ever clean my attys. In fact, other than when I first get them, so get rid of that awful primer fluid they come with, I think the only time I've done it was to get rid of the remnant of bad-tasting juice.

Did you get enough juice down into the atomizer AFTER cleaning it?

In my experience, a completely clean atomizer can take around 6 or 7 drops of juice, and needs at least 5 drops of juice to get ready for action. For comparison, an atomizer I have been vaping on that starts to get that burnt taste needs another 2 or 3 drops only. Any more than that and you could flood it.

The thing is, there is a large mesh wrap that surrounds the coil pot under the bridge. It holds a lot of juice, and needs to get filled up for the atomizer to work properly and to avoid the burnt taste.

EDIT: Your mileage may vary, depending on the size of the drops from your dropper bottle.
