I don't see any reason why my goal should be to quit smoking and quit vaping!

I probably would've never quit smoking had I not found this wonderful world of vaping! I I was doubtful that vaping would help me quit but now that I have I have no intention of quitting vaping either! I enjoy it too much! I pay no attention to those who ask me 'so when are you gonna quit that thing'...my response is exactly what I said above. NEVER!!

I've always enjoyed smoking while I hated knowing what it was doing to me. Vaping has eliminated the hatred part. Will I quit vaping ? To be totally honest; I don't know. It would be nice to leave the house and not have to inventory additional items before I go. Keys, wallet, money, cell phone is enough. It'd be nice to not have to check supplies and re-order to make sure my "stock" is in within reason.

Am I looking forward to no longer being addicted to nicotine ? Honestly, yes. Being addicted to ANYTHING ain't kosher in my book. Am I in a hurry to not being addicted to nicotine ? Not by any means.

As long as I'm not carrying a pack of smokes and a lighter in my pocket, looking for the ever-more-elusive smoking area, I'm good.

No rush. And hopefully, vaping will give me more time on this planet.

I lost my addiction to nicotine without trying several months after I started vaping. I've vaped mostly 0 mg juice for over two years now but I do sometimes enjoy some nic in my juice. :) I recently had chest x-rays taken and an EKG done and the results showed my EKG was fine and my lungs look really good for someone that smoked over 35 years :) And my blood pressure was described by my doctor as perfect :)

I've no plans to quit vaping anytime in the near future as there's no need for me to give up something I enjoy :)

Vaping should be what we want it to be for ourselves. Right now we have the luxury of being able to do that any way we want. For the majority of us it has been a smoking cessation tool. For a lot of us it has been a nicotine replacement tool. For some of us it has been a nicotine cessation tool. A couple of times I've seen someone go through that whole process and then quit vaping. And occasionally I see someone who has never smoked get into vaping.

I am not going to tell anyone that the way they vape, or the reason they have for vaping is wrong. It's all good as long as we stay off the smokes and are satisfied we are doing the right things for ourselves :thumb:.

Vaping is not promoted as a smoking secession thing, which is probably true since a lot of us stopped smoking immediately, no expensive FDA approved BP secession program necessary, poor babies, all that money they are losing out on.

Whatever comes after stopping smoking is just gravy on gravy. I just have other hobbies and interests I want to pursue now that I've freed up tobacco money. I try to vape enough to keep me away from tobacco yet I try not to hit the checkout button for about seven full shopping carts from various vaping sites. It is hard, there is a lot of cool vaping gadgets out there. :)

This

Im hoping to follow in your footsteps in another 6 months or so Grand.

I will probably still keep a couple of 12mg 30 ml bottles stashed in my car or home for emergencies but I would eventually like to get to 0 nic.

I like the variety of angles on the question in this thread. My angle -

Quit smoking and started vaping over a year ago. I still don't know how or why it happened. A colleague gave me a try on his PV. Soon as my own arrived in the post, that was it for the cigs. Never even wanted one since. Started off on 12mg liquid. Just switched to 6mg about a month ago, and it doesn't seem to be a problem. I might experiment with 0mg at some point, but it's not a big issue in my mind. Giving up vaping is not even a plan at the moment.

The only thing I'm trying to do is to vape more like a smoker - because it's possible to vape pretty much anywhere (here in Scotland), I find I can too easily vape constantly. And I don't enjoy that; it takes my attention off what's happening around me, and doesn't give me the satisfaction of "something different" that an analog cigarette gives you: the waiting, the decision to have one, the going outside or away from people, the rolling and lighting up, and then the definite end to the cigarette. I find that I enjoy vaping more if I treat it a bit like that, as a special time-out treat.

I've had lots of people ask me when I'm going to "give up properly". I shrug and say, deliberately casually, "dunno... might do some time... might never"; and then respond to their sometimes shocked expression by explaining all the science about the health risks of vaping vs. smoking. They sometimes still don't "get it"; but any chance to put some facts out there is to be leapt at. If they don't "get it" that it's all about enjoyment, not addiction, there's not much I can do to change their mind. (Enjoyment vs addiction, in terms of my personal choice, is why I'm making efforts to not vape constantly: for me, having to vape all the time feels like addiction - vaping at intervals feels like enjoyment).

Vaping is not just my nicotine delivery system.
It's also my hobby. I have no interest in ever quitting.
I'm buying 18 mg now, down from 24.
Got some free samples from Vermillion River.
Yeah I know free is free.
The flavors are ok. But the only option is 10 or zero nic.
That just seems silly. I will vape it in the middle of the night.
If they're only offering 2 nic levels.
10 & 20 would make more sense.
They also taste & smell like maple syrup.
That's my rant of the day.

I'd rather poop in a Gap dressing room than quit vaping!

I'm allowed at least one vice. I quit drinking and smoking. I deserve it!

Wal-Mart... Sure.

But not at the Gap.

started vaping 2 years ago, and it took a while to cut back on smokes and finally put my foot down and go full-time to vaping- happy I finally did it!

not sure when I'll stop, or if I ever will.. my nic level cut itself down, I suspect this trend will continue over more time.. but I enjoy vaping too much! more than I loved smoking! I think the hobby aspect, as well as the community, really helps make vaping a long-term thing for me.

Today is my 4th year anniversary.
Started at 36 mg four years ago.
Now - 12 mg.

I didn't plan to step down in nicotine strength - it just happened naturally by itself.
Guess that nicotine by itself doesn't have such a strong addictive properties.

Congratulations! :thumbs::toast::vapor:

It seems that most people have no intention of cessation, so I suppose all the disclaimers are right? Also, I feel like I might as well keep up the hobby now that I've spent about 1k in the last few months on devices and every juice with a good review... and quitting smoking was also a nice benefit.

My thought was if you used e-cigs and quit smoking tobacco then you've cessiated. I was being a little toung-in-cheek about it but the majority of programs are marketed as smoking cessation not nicotine cessation. After perusing these forums' health, legal and news sections I see smoking tobacco and nicotine use two separate issues. To me smoking cessation is just that, the end of ones smoking tobacco.
