I started vaping because I figured out the reason I couldn't quit smoking is because I enjoyed it so much and really didn't want to so I started vaping with no intention to quit. Now I enjoy vaping as much or more than smoking (probably a lot more because I feel better and know I'm not harming myself like I was). Yes, I still like some nicotine in my vape even though I have been dialing it back from time to time but I really have no interest in quitting vaping until someone can tell me why I should (and they best have a good reason) :)

It is up to you when you quit vaping. Maybe one day you just will.

As for nicotine being used for Alhzheimers it is experimental only. Having 2 family members go through it is horrible. Both of them smoked. One is now dead and the other who smoked 40 years is taking 30 + pills a day. None of them help either.

Maybe the vapor of nicotine is effective. I wouldn't use that as excuse to vape.

I should have said that it was experimental and I don't really use it as an excuse to vape. My wife tells me I'm much easier to live with when I get my nicotine, that's my real excuse. My real reason is because I want to.

Sorry to hear about your family members, I certainly didn't mean any disrespect.

I enjoyed Vaping for most of my first year. Then all the FDA crap started and that was a Red Flag that I need to know I'll never revert.
I went to DIY and started reducing my Nic gradually over the past year. This weekend I mixed several new and favorite flavors at 1mg Nic. I've been at 3mg for a little over a months.
It seems at this low a level, the Brain has started returning to ab.......err normal and I may be able to drop the nic all together very soon.

From there it is Vape like Desert - as the urge to enjoy hits.

I only vape to keep from smoking. I chew nic gum when I can't vape. When you don't need a crutch is when you truly are free of smoking or nicotine. I have used 24% nic juice for over 2 years now. The thought of going lower makes me nervous. Just as the thought of not having the gum, when I can't vape, makes me nervous. I do enjoy vaping because it is so less harmful than smoking. But, in the end, it is just the nic. I may try lowering my nic when I get my vv/vw and use a really good RTA. They say the nic is too strong when you have a really good set-up and one can get overdose symptoms. Like the hiccups I get when I chew two or three pieces of gum at a time. I know either the gum OR vaping is harm reduction but in the end.......it IS an addiction, just like smoking or drinking. Maybe, we need a NIC anon, like alanon? I enjoy vaping, don't get me wrong, but, neither do I fool myself, I am an addict. BTW, just as vaping has saved me TONS of money, so does the gum, when I order it from New Zealand. Good luck to all who have quit whatever is their bad habit.
