I don't totally understand the need for a lot of vapor

From reading the forum threads and different reviews on juice websites, it seems to be a very big deal how much vapor a carto gives off. Is this just for aesthetic reasons? Or does less vapor mean less taste and nicotine? Because I've seen some videos where the vapor was so much that it surprised me. When I smoke analogs they sure don't give off that much smoke. And personally, I care way more about TH, nicotine and taste than I do about the vapor. Could someone clarify this?

Thanks!

It really is personal preference, that's all (combined with some people having sensitivity to either high PG or high VG).

I started with about 80% PG, 20% VG as my norm, found over time that throat hit doesn't make much difference any longer. Nowadays I tend to mix my own DIY at 30% VG, though I'm also doing some 0 PG blending for kicks, and do enjoy that liquid as well.

A lot of people reason that lots of vapor contains lots of nicotine. That may be true but, most of the vapor get exhaled before the nicotine is absorbed.
I don't care about the vapor or the TH, just give me the nicotine my body thinks it needs and I'll be a happy camper.

I like a lot of vapor because it assures me I'm getting enough vapor for there to be decent amount of nicotine absorption
Plus the feel of a lot of vapor in your lungs just feels more like real smoking.

If I don't get a lot of vapor, I may as well be sucking on an empty straw. I put it to my lips and inhale, I can taste it, I can feel it but when I exhale and nothing (or very little) comes out I wonder if I'm getting anything.

Did you ever light your smoke and it didn't catch or it went out for some reason? You take a drag but no smoke comes out of your mouth and it puts you in bad spirits -- that happens to me if there's very little or no vapor when I exhale. I'm sure it's all psychological.

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks!

You have it right Newme, but what it all boils down to again is personal preference. Some feel lots of vape does what every one has already pointed out, but you can be totally satisfied with TH and flavor without so much vape.. It all lies in what a person wants.

I never understood the *need* for LOTS of vapor either. Watch a smoker drag on an analog and exhale. The *worst* performing e-cig conjures up more vapor than an analog does smoke. So, what's the point of massive vapor? Some, to ensure that everything is working correctly is good by me but I don't need clouds or 2 or 3 times as much as vapor as compared to what smoking was for me.

I tend to stealth vape often... at work, stores, wherever. Too much vapor is a detriment toward that end.

Throat hit... well, that's another issue! Gotta have TH or the whole thing is meaningless. LOL

+1 on this. And I can't stand throat hit...it's all about vapor and flavor for me. Vaping has many more options than smoking ever did...and I dig that. Find what YOU like and enjoy being free of combustion. :)

Visible vapor is a clue to how good a hit you got. It's psychological I guess. I imagine there may be some people who care about others seeing them blow out a bunch of vapor (would that be a macho thing like my puff is bigger than yours? I don't know. I don't think that way). But I like to see me blow out a big puff of vapor because that means even if I didn't get a big TH, I got my nicotine. It's also a clue that my atty is working well and my cart has enough juice (which isn't happening today because I apparently have the 901 atty from hell and its friend try-to-suck-on-this overstuffed cart grrrrr)

And I would think in public, that less vapor would cause less of a stir. People might be less likely to think you're smoking.

I didn't smoke much in public and I don't vape much in public. I wouldn't care what people thought anyway, I only care about what keeps me off cigarettes and alive/healthier longer for my daughter.

I want a fair amount of vapor so I know when my atty or cart is low on juice, or battery needs charged. Also if your cartomizer is not putting out much vapor then its time for a new one or time to try cleaning it with hot water and leave overnight to dry. Then when you refill a cleaned cartomizer and it still does not produce much vapor (Toss it Out and get a new one)
