Hello ECF!

A while back (probably 6 months or so?) I came on here, was blown away by the support, and got as much advice as I could need to get started into vaping. I did well, compared to the other ways of quitting I tried. In fact I was done, no problem, never going back. Then it happened. My buddy that I started smoking with, came home on military leave for a month. I was prepared, or so I thought. Turns out that I have more of a problem with the social aspect of smoking than I thought. I thought it was just the stress and relief/nicotine addiction that was keeping me doing it, but I soon found out it is just the joy I get from going out with a few buddies and having a smoke.

Since then, I have continued to smoke, even more so than I did before vaping. I was cleaning some things out and saw my little abandoned smoke stik sitting there, and it got me to thinking. I'm jumping back on this horse. I am going to tackle it again, and stick with it this time.

With all this said, to "jump start" my vaping again, I am going to invest in some new hardware. I won a starter kit from Smoke Stik as my first e-cig, and it served its purpose. However, I think that I am going to upgrade. Maybe something with a little bit more battery capacity, and definitely more liquid capacity. The only thing I see thrown around a lot on here is EGO, so I will look into that, but I am wondering if I can get some more suggestions.

Just what worked for you or the combination of things that enabled you to stick with it. As always, any help is so greatly appreciated.

Wow! I post and less than an hour later I have new hardware on the way, and for much lest than I expected. Really appreciate all who gave suggestions.

Another question for those that use a similar setup. My experience so far was pretty basic. I bought a couple packs of cartos, refilled them, replaced cartos after a while, and charged my batteries. How often did you have to replace the head on the nova? Any other maintenance type things I should know going into it?

Thanks again all!

I've had my vivi nova for about 10 days now, and I've been using it every day. Haven't replaced the head on it. I did, however, clean it a few days ago! I wanted to put a new juice in it to see how it handled the change, and it worked flawlessly! Super easy to clean too, just disassemble, run the pieces under water, pat dry with a paper towel, reassemble, vape happy! There are videos on youtube on how to clean them, it's really amazing how simple they are after using things that aren't so simple...

I just quit analogs two weeks ago. I started e-cigs over a year ago with a 510, but only used it when I could not smoke. When I really started to quit I upgraded my gear as well. I bought a VV lavatube and started using that. However I bought an ego twist and find myself using that the most. My reason is simple. While the lavatube lasts longer it is way big for me to carry around, it's like carrying a maglite everywhere. The twist, a 1100mAh, is a good size and fits in my pocket. It lasts most of the day, all my work day. I work around ten hours a day and can vape when I want, the twist gets a work out during the day. The lavatube I use while I am at home. I strongly recommend a variable voltage unit, get what woks for you. There are lots of great units on the market. If you can go to a local shop and hold them, see what is comfortable. If you don't have a shop close by, call the company your going to order from and get measurements for the devices you are instrested in. Then go to home depot, Walmart, anywhere to get an idea of the size and how comfortable it is, look at flashlights that are close to the sizes you were given. That was the "mistake" I made with the lavatube, I just didn't realize how big it was( I say mistake but I love the device. Great vape and long life just not as portable as I wanted). My main point hear is to take all th advice that veteran vapors give you then make an informed decision that will work for you.
The thing that helped me the most was what I vaped. I don't vape any tabaco flavors. I found that a vape that tastes like a cigarette made me want a cigarette. I find myself using menthol flavors a lot, I never smoked menthol cigarettes. What I use are tastes like fire and ice, strong cinnamon and menthol. Also cherry ice, mild cherry flavor with a kick of menthol. Two weeks in and I can't see myself ever smoking again. The smell of a cigarette is no longer very pleasant to me. I am still trying different flavors. Order sample packs, lots and lots of sample packs. Even if a flavor sounds crazy try it. Don't just shop around for something that gives the flavor that you are used to. Look into other tastes. There at hundreds of choices out there find one that works.
Like I said this is what has worked for me. It may or my not work for you. I hope my ideas help.

Thanks for the support. Wow, really great community here. I will update when I recieve my new mod/tank. Also I plan to be more active on this forum. I think that was part of my problem before. The initial surge of excitement came, and there was support here, but as I got busy, I found it more comfortable to just do what those around me are doing.

Awesome group, and as I said I'll update everyone in the next week or so once I'm back to smelling fresh :2cool:

I guess I should have asked this question before assuming. I was all excited, I received my vivi nova and twist today in the mail, was going to throw it on the charger and then it hit me. I never thought to see if my smoke stik chargers would work with the twist. It doesn't seem to. I guess I assumed they were both 510, so it would be fine, but it seems like the threads are a bit different. Anyone know why this is?
