I feel like I got a big raise

Granted, when I started smoking 42 years ago, cigs only cost about 35 cents a pack. Now, here in Texas, they are about $6.10 for a pack if you buy them by the carton.

Taking inflation into account whereby almost everything else is about 10 times what it was back in 1968, they should only be about $3.50 a pack. But thanks to state and federal government taxation and billion dollar law suits by individuals that didn't know smoking was bad for them, the cost of cigs has far out paced inflation.

Well, I guess that was a rant. But what I wanted to say is that I was spending about $360 a month on smokes.

I was a 2 pad smoker before I took up vaping. Now I am only spending around $60 a month for juice and replacement parts. So there you have it, a $300 a month raise. Quite substantial.

I'm thankful everyday that eCigs got me off analogs, but I honestly don't think that I've saved any money yet - no matter what my banner signature says.

I haven't really started saving money yet either lol. Trying to find what suits me best personally has been expensive. With an eGO, a Phidias, and a VapeMate on the way I'm hoping I wont spend too much more on mods and other PVs. Though I know I will absolutely have to have a nice looking steel or titanium mod with a locking button. E-cigs are the greatest thing since sliced bread as far as I'm concerned.

I have been spending on this hobby weekly but I got a bigger raise than most!!! In NY we do not even get a kiss before we have to shell out $10.25/pack. I was at 1.5PAD so about $465 per month. I can justify buying a lot of vaping gear and still come out ahead.

I haven't been able to enjoy that, since I've been so broke since I got back to the States that quitting smoking merely enabled me to survive - not to put anything away.

But that should be changing in the next couple weeks. It's nice that I'll be able to enjoy having more money to play with, rather than simply going from rollies to Lucky's and all my money going *poof.*

I know I have probably spent more on vaping supplies than I did smoking, but that should change over time. The banners that say how much you have saved should also have a spot that says how much you have spent on vaping supplies...lol. That would probably be a more accurate assessment of the actual "savings". But there is no value you can put on improving your health, so it all comes out in the wash. I'm always wanting that new something or other and I know at some point I'll have enough "toys" and then I'll realize the true savings. I've started DIY juices to save and also am starting to make my mods with parts I have laying around. They may not look pretty, but they work. I think I can see the light at the end of the savings tunnel......

Yeah, the banners. I had to go back and re-do mine since it only asked me the cost of my first pv, LOL. I have added a few since then. Its pretty close right now as far as money saved. But being a little bit OCD, I have kept every receipt from my purchases on a clip attached to a nail in the wall in my work shed with a running total.

I have all my receipts too...have bought everything I wanted and I am STILL ahead of the game...and healthier to boot !!

I noticed this the other day as well. All of a sudden I just have money in my pocket. I panicked and checked my bank account because I thought I forgot to pay a bill or something. Even with ALL the money I'm spending on vapeing I'm still saving money!!

I've spent money in worse ways.....made an excel spread sheet. How much saved vs. spent. I've got 4.4 weeks to come out even. Calc'd liquid on hand so won't have to order again til February! THEN I will have saved over 400 big ones. Love this. Have all the bells and whistles for my 510 mega's. e cigs are the greatest invention since sliced bread.
