After 3 and a half months off the filthy smokes, it has been bugging me recently and as I was bored today though I'd try a smoke. Well it was the most foul tasting thing I ever had, now I feel sickly and have a headache and I stink so I need a shower. I guess Im officially a non smoker now then eh. Im annoyed at myself for smoking the filthy thing but I had to know for sure. We live and learn....off to brush my teeth again.

It's amazing to me that when we first started smoking cigarettes that very thing you describe happening didn't stop us. Just blows my mind. I remember coughing up a storm and carrying on, I can't for the life of me figure out why I kept at it and still I smoke 3 or 4 cigarettes a day though usually I can't get through a complete one. The urge is still there but there is hope now and my focus is on how many I don't smoke.

Thanks for sharing your story.

Congratulations! I think?

Count yourself among the lucky people here who quit with vaping, and then that funny thing happened: That 30 year habit I had - that I thought I just couldn't live without - somehow became disgusting and nauseating. Just the memory of my last few cigarette experiences is enough to make me shudder when I think I just might want to try one again.

If there was ever anything we could document about why e-cigs are a better way to quit smoking, this has to be one of the top features. I was dying for a cigarette when I tried quitting with gum or cold turkey. (And I never did quit.) People I know who quit cold turkey or with patches are still having serious cravings 2+ years after they quit. Quit with e-cigs? And you never want to touch another one again. Go figure.

Beat that, big pharma!

Seriously A big welcome and congratulations! Thanks for sharing your story.

oh well, tried and tested I wont be doing that in a hurry again. Kinda glad I did it now tho apart from the fact that it broke my long spell which I have been counting, just have to have today erased from my mind and also the day I started at 10 yrs old. 2hrs later and I still have a headache. Keep up the good work everyone. I shouldv came in here b4 I got tempted DOH

Nah. You'll be fine. Count this as a positive experience because the memory of that cigarette will stay with you for a long time. I know it may feel like a disappointment, but in the long run you will find that this works out ok. It seems strange that smoking a cigarette could turn into it's own biggest negative reinforcement. But that's just what you experienced. Want another one any time soon? Don't think so... It was only one - and it proved a very obvious point to you.

Congratulations on your 3 and a half months! I just hit 5 months. Consider yourself lucky that smoke tasted foul. I'm one of those people that still likes the second hand smoke and smell. I crave them at times, but consider myself a non-smoker too. The vaping sure takes the edge off though. :vapor:

I've been wanting to quit forever. vaping has done the trick for me... though I haven't been through all of the topics on health issues, it can't possibly be as bad for me as analogs.

Now, I just wish my wife would take it seriously. Just smelling her makes me nauseus after she's lit up!

About a month into vaping I was on a long drive, and both of my little 510 batts were dead-- and I didn't have a car charger.

I stopped and get a pack of analogs. OMFG was it bad. After 4 drags, I tossed it out the window. I ended up putting a drop of 1.6 blueberry on my tounge and rubbing it into my gums. Problem solved. I'm not recommending this as a general practice, I'm just saying that emergency situations sometimes call for emergency measures.

I will never pick up another analog. How vile.

Chuckle Chuckle. I would say a lesson well learned, I bet you won't do that again. I am smiling as I read this as I too did the very same thing. I took one drag and didn't even inhale and thought I would never get the smell off me. Experience is the best teacher. The good news is that you will never wonder about it again!
