I have been reading ECF for a couple of weeks, after my Ophthamologist told me that cigarette smoke was aggrivating my Iritis. He told me vaping would be better due to it just being vapor. I didn't have the slightest idea what vaping was. So after finding ECF through Google. I've been constantly reading the forums for the last couple of weeks. I finally went today and bought 2 Joyetech ego twists 1000 mah each, 1 mini protank-2, 2 CE-4 what-cha-ma-callits came with the twists along with a usb & ac charger.

I was a Pack a day smoker, so I'm hoping this will work. I picked up some e-juice from Pink Spot Vapors. I don't know anybody that vapes, (this is Vegas majority of people I see smoke cigarettes). So right now I have just been watching you tube videos and trying to learn how and what to do by reading the forums.

I'm not having any problems as of yet, (it's only been a couple of hours) but I just thought I would stop and say "Hello":)

Hi there, congratulations.

1. It's great if you never smoke again, but if you fail every now and then, it's no big thing. Quitting at the same time as learning to vape is harder than smoking and vaping for a few months before quitting. It's doable, but expect some anxiety and frustration.
2. You've got some good kit there, but still expect to be spending more in about a week.
3. There's no such thing as an eliquid that tastes like your favourite tobacco. If you can't find a tobacco flavour you can vape all day, try a good vanilla flavour. That's a good substitute.
4. You've got a backup battery, but you need to make sure it's charged at all times. Consider a backup charger.
5. Too much kit is better than too little. Never let your backup be a cigarette, no matter what goes wrong.

Congrats and welcome to ECF. You're at the right place to gain a wealth of knowledge about vaping/e-cigs. I'm Surprised you don't see many people out there vaping. There's tons of Vape Shops there; I know there used to be a Volcano e-cig kiosk in Boulevard Mall. Just Google and you see how many options you have. That said, if you want to see how many vapers there are, meet and learn and see all Vape Gear you'd ever want to see just attend Vape Summit in a couple weeks there in Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel on the 13th and 14th of June.

Good Luck

to ecf and the wonderful world of vaping. Congrats to you for having such a educated eye doctor. You'll end up thanking him. If you have any questions , don't hesitate to ask. There are always some pretty wonderful people around here. Good luck to you and happy vaping. :)

Welcome to ECF and congratulations on making the switch to vaping!

If you want to meet fellow vapers and can travel to Reno you might want to attend VaporCon West on July 11–12. Vapers tend to be a friendly, helpful lot and there will be loads of gear to see as well as plenty of good quality juice to sample.

Welcome to the forum and the world of vaping.

I'm new myself as I have just 33 days from my last cigarette. But hopefully I will never have another.

I did do both when I started vaping for about the first 3+ weeks but cut down from 10 packs every 8-9 days to one pack a week and then just a few a week when I could bum one from someone. Then I said "What the [MODERATED] am I doing" and haven't had one since.

Best of luck to you.

As said by Rip tripper.

"Smoking is Dead, Vaping is the Future and the Future is Now".

Congrats! I live in a town where everyone smokes also. We don't even have any vape shops! Don't worry, if your on your own you can still succeed! Thanks to ECF and youtube! Those alone helped me find my way from cigalikes to Reo and everything in between along my vape joinery. But I'm sure being in Vegas your much better off! Enjoy your new hobby!

Congrats. I made the switch 3 months ago and aside from getting frustrated with the disposable cig-a-likes the first week and buying a pack of analogs to get me through till I bought some Spinners, I haven't touched an analog since. In fact every time I smell one now I get sick a little. Still have cravings every now and then but a pull off my Kayfun and im good to go.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!!

Well, I made it through the first day. I smoked 2 cigarettes, one right before I got ready to leave for work & one when I got home. I only have a half a pack left, and I said when they are gone I am not buying anymore. I'm hoping that I will wake up and won't have urge for a cigarette really soon. I'm vaping 18 mg, it seems to be ok.

Now I can't seem to stop looking at more things to buy. I hope to buy a mvp shine in the next couple of weeks. But I have already ordered 2 more mini protank-2's. My next purchase is to hit up a couple of places on line that have sample packs for ejuice, because what I am finding out is Pink Spot Vapors is not all that, or maybe it is just the flavors I got.
