...especially to mostapha, mistinthewoods, and all ECF members who read my posts regarding quitting nicotine.

I had gone eight days on the Allan Carr "make yourself elated to have escaped nicotine" ... it's all in my head! WELL!

We had a really bad storm and the winds blew horizontally. I was scared to death. After the storm, I HAD to have a smoke and bought a pack of cigarettes, and then I really hated myself because I was smoking again. I threw them away and I got out all my vaping paraphernalia, and now I am so glad to have my trusty EVO. I am happily vaping away, and just couldn't "make myself elated" during a horrible storm. Those cravings were VERY MUCH ALIVE even after eight days.

So with this said, I learned a lot about my "head" in just the last day. I genuinely apologize to all of ECF because now, I am proof of what a godsend an e-cig is. I'm going to continue vaping so that I don't go back to smoking...which, I found out, is so easy to do. In fact, I'd sure like a cigarette right now. It's amazing how things can fall to pieces. Right now, I am tickled to have my e-cig.

God Bless You All for not throwing me out of ECF.

Karen (yup, I'm a dudette...)

Hey! I love dogs in hats! You, too? Love your avatar. The wallpaper border in my living room and office is of a boxer in a black top hat, a sheep dog in a bowler, a golden retriever in a berae (don't know how to spell berae) and a corgi in a berae also. Repeats itself all around the room. There's something about dogs with hats on...

Yep. They won't stand for in in real life...but photoshop works wonders... My beasties have ECF caps, and even better, they have fancy bonnets for very special ECF occasions

I would love to have that border!

Welcome back to the world of vaping. :)

Ya know there is nothing wrong with wanting to reduce your nicotine intake or eventually totally eliminate it. But we are all different individuals and if we choose to want to take that path we have to do it in our own way, which is different for different folks. Many will never choose to do that and thats ok too. For me, I think that vaping is a wonderful harm reduction alternative to smoking cigarettes. Perfect, no not by any means, but a dang good one for many of us :)

I'm one of those people that is no longer addicted to nicotine, although I do sometimes choose to use some. For me, vaping is the way to be smoking free forever because I know as long as I can vape if I wish or need to there is no reason to ever pick up a cigarette again no matter what happens in my life and thats a wonderful feeling :)

I wanted to tell you if the Carr cold turkey failed you should pick up your e-cigs instead but the thread I was in was closed.

Getting off nicotine isn't a completely bad idea, although I think for some of us (like me with my panic issues) keeping nicotine around so the thing to go back to in a few years when something comes up is the e-cig rather than real cigs is a good plan.

Me going down from 11mg to 5.5mg hasn't been a problem so far. 5.5mg is all I had yesterday.
5.5mg in the morning after 3 months of vaping 11mg was much easier than vaping in the morning was after quitting cigarettes. I had to us 18mg for a few morning puffs after cigarettes. I hardly noticed not getting my 11mg this morning.

Hmmmm...thanks for the advice. I have been using 36 that I get from the UK. I will definately think about lowering the nic content as I go along. I'm just glad right now that I'm satisfied today with the e-cig and didn't run back to the store for a whole carton of cigarettes. Geeez, it's so easy to just start again...and I do not want to smoke cigarettes, do not want to, ever again.
