Tripple digits half way to home
Throw the flag up on your mail box when you are expecting vapemail! The mail person may be confused looking for outgoing mail, but they'll put it back down after they put your mail in, and then you know you have your package!

Now tha'ts an idea.

Actually, my mail guy has been delivering my mail for 15 years, same guy. He's great. He knows me well and I know him well. But in the older days (and I'm not super old, hehe) people tipped their mailman at Christmas time and he was considered a special person to give a gift to just like any other person that services you in whatever way. Nowadays people are just rude and don't do the things they used to do in my days. I live in a townhouse and we have small mailboxes. If my package won't fit in the mailbox, he walks it over to my unit personally and puts it inside my screen door. If it won't fit in my screen door, he stashes it for me in a chair on my front porch behind my wall. He deserves some appreciation and he treats me great because of it.

I just rec'd the "action report" from the local postmaster regarding the shoddy delivery I mentioned in a prior post. She actually got all the carriers together before leaving one morning and "dressed them down" regarding customer service. I also got a call from the postmaster apologizing for the problem and she promised it would not happen again since this route is now going up for bid. Now I'll have the same carrier all the time other than vacations.
I always leave thank you notes and some little confection during the holidays for the mailman. Just figured it's a nice thing to do since most of the carriers are so kind. And I am now going to leave a little note in the box letting them know that I'm expecting a package and would appreciate if they could put it on my porch because the heat in the box could damage the contents.
Hopefully I will not have a repeat of the envelope on the ground again. Thanks to everyone for the tips......
