Aloha...

I was gonna post this in the IKENVAPE subforum, but it seems I am only allowed to post here, as I am a new member...

I recently recieved my IKV gold V2 cartos in the mail, and immediatly filled it up... I accidently dripped some juice in the hole, in the center of the material and didn't think it was a big deal... began vaping on it and for some reason, it had little to no vapor and barely had any taste... Also, it takes a while for the coils to heat the juice (barely to no sound from the coil frying the juice) and doesn't seem to be working properly...

Before purchasing these cartos, I read a lot of good/great reviews on them and decided to purchase some because I don't like dripping and driving...

So my questions are:

Is this the norm for cartos (very little amounts of vapor and barely any taste)???
Or am i just too used to dripping on LR atties and getting good tasting flavors and clouds of vapor???

BTW... I filled it up with Backwoods Brew's 555 juice if it makes a difference...

Any advice would help... Mahalos

Cleaned the battery, and yessir, it is manual... When you say blow out excess juice, what do you mean??? I thought the juice stays in the carto material... What side do i blow the excess juice out from (battery or mouthpiece)???

Thanx

Place your mouth at the end opposite to the battery and give it a good blow. Remember to take it off the battery first. It sounds like you've got juice in the centre channel, that is preventing air from coming through it.

I put maybe 16-20 drops, but I just dripped it straight in, instead of tilting at 45-70 degress and dripping it down the side... I don't know if that even makes a difference... but from all the youtube videos I watched, it seems like tilting and dripping down the side is the proper way... too bad I only researched it after I had trouble with the carto... lol... thanx for the help...

I drip at least 16-18 drops per ml of carto capacity into the stuffing, holding a bit of tissue on the threaded end. Then I clean up the threaded end and blow it out. I never blow into the mouth end. I always blow into the threaded end with the open end pointed down into a tissue. Then I sop up any loose juice above the stuffing. Then if it is a fresh fill of a blank, I let it settle so every single bit of stuffing in there gets damp because I don't want to singe it. With 70pg/30vg juice I find 15-20 mins of laying the carto on different sides is enough time. Then it's vapable. but when a carto is well filled then it might vape like flooded atty for a bit, cool and with not much vapor. Once excess juice is vaporized around near wherever the coil is, it will vape better.

And so far, I only like cartos with a defined certer air channel like Boges and I do not like ones with no central channel or an inner seal like SLB. Ikenvape has a lot of different cartos and I do no know what they are like inside.

Also - what battery are you vaping it on and what is the ohms of the carto?

I'm also a noob, only vaped for about two months. I got cartos for the first time yesterday, and I found the condom fill method works great for me, I totally flooded my atty trying to do it from the top. While I like the amount of vapor, taste, and having to refill much less, does anyone find they go through a lot more juice, I seem to refill about 25 drops after an hour of pretty solid vaping, it seems like I used a lot less juice filling cartridges for the same amount of vaping.

Hey Dormouse... thanx for the help...

I am vaping on a Vapor Toker (small company based in Hawaii) Fatty battery... By the looks of it, I would think that it is a knock off of an eGo model... The carto is rated at 2.5 ohms... Does this make a difference???

I am still tryna figure out how all this battery voltage and ohm rating of the atty/carto works...

Vaping sure is a hell of a lot more trouble than smoking... LOL.. But I guess if it will keep me healthier and save me more money in the long run, it is worth a shot... Much mahalos

Yeah man... I have been vaping for about 3 and a halp weeks now... this is my first time trying carto's and it really got me stumped... I love dripping because it is so easy to understand and straight to the point... the only downside to dripping is you gotta do it often (maybe every 5-8 hits) and can be a hassle... also dripping is very hard to do while driving and is best suited for home or office use... LOL
