Hello,

I just purchased a new DCT carto yesterday, along with some new juice. I really don't have any steeped juice around at the moment other than some nice peppermint/menthol, as I'm still new to vaping and haven't had to chance to accumulate much. I have some steeping at the moment, but aren't ready. I filled my carto tank up with an ejuice that isn't too tasty yet. Not much taste at all, as a matter of fact.

Would it be ok to drip a few drops of the peppermint/menthol every now and again into my my carto? What I did earlier was take off my mouthpiece (drip tip) drip a few drops directly onto the top of the carto, then recap and vape. It seems to work well, but I'm not sure if I'm risking damaging my carto by doing this or any other issues that might happen. I'm using a Tesla, btw if that helps any.

Thanks in advance :)

Hi Carla. Sorry - I'm a bit confused about what you're trying to do! Are you dripping into a carto that has already been primed or a fresh carto?

Also, steeping is one of those things that's going to divide opinion. Personally, I never steep any of my juices - and I don't put up with pre-mixed e-liquids that require steeping. There are plenty of great liquids that don't. What particular juice(s) are you steeping at the moment? Has someone told you that that particular brand will improve with steeping?

Yes, I'm dripping into a full tank with a carto that has been primed. There's juice in the tank, but relatively tasteless. I just pop off the mouthpiece and the carto is in it's normal metal tube, I can view it from the top. I drip a few drops of a tasty menthol to augment the current juice, directly into the cartomizer instead of the tank, which already has ejuice in it. Does that make sense?

I don't know tons, but I've heard many vapers that do indeed drip into the carto. (A good rule of thumb, seems to be to have two tanks, two batteries. (or, two carts and two batteries.) That way when a battery runs out, or a tank is priming whatnot, you still have your other to utilize.

It's why IMO you often see starter kits with two complete setups.

What you're doing sounds fine to me. Just be sure that you drip into the filler material and not into the center air tube.

That makes perfect sense - you'll be absolutely fine. Good way to add some flavor to your vape. As Sue said, just avoid getting any e-liquid into the air hole.

Yep, good point ;) Forgot that it's not always 'clear' about that breathing hole to everyone. :/ I watch too many 'how to' videos. :/ Sorry, as I said... I don't know a ton... or, what I do know can lead to incomplete suggestions. Have to fix that. :D I don't wanna mess up anyone's experience!

What you're doing is fine for the carto. I also use carto/tank setups and I like my carto really wet. In between refilling my tanks I do the same thing. Or if its really seeming dry I unscrew my tank/carto and insert the needletip on my juice bottle up inside the bottom end of the carto and squirt in some juice. It saturates the filler from the inside-bottom up. Then I blow out the excess into a papertowel-screw the tank back onto my battery and resume enjoying my carto. As long as you keep that center airhole free of juice it works out fine.

Didn't think there was anything wrong with your original suggestion, Nyght! It's a very good idea to have backup batteries/tanks/atties etc - in my case, I have backups for my backups!.

JJ

Whoot, that's dedication! (Though, I guess I can say the same... four batteries, dozens of clearomizers... yep, at least six bottles of juice. Crazily trying to make this work :D)
