I Got Extra Lucky...

I am unsure if it is the type of luck I need, but yesterday I put my brand new blue xl in my back pocket. Forgetting it was there on a quick trip to the pot, it fell out and landed into the bottom.

I knew I couldn't LEAVE it in there, and frusturated with my previous experience with VK meets water (it went through the washing machine) I figured I may as well prop it up and see if it would work later.
After sponging it with mouth wash. And alcohol. And alcohol. And a little lysol. And mouth wash.

24 hours later, I popped a cart on. And to my extreme surprise it works. And well. No problems, except for a little potty mouth paranoia on my end. I did clean it though. So it can't be that bad? I really have to quit putting them in my pockets.

I wouldn't worry, probably not the last thing of questionable "should I put it to my lips" that will arise.

I could never. NEVER! I would barely be able to reach in and get it out, and I'd be washing my hands for 15 minutes afterwards! I'm not a germaphobe, I'm too much of a slob for that. Back home, I live and eat in conditions that would send a germaphobe into a catatonic state. It's only toilets and associated things that freak me out. They just plain gross me out!! Even nice clean western ones.

Key word, "seen." The only good thing I can see about squat toilets is that (assuming you do it right, and keep your balance) you don't have to touch them at all.

we had some squat porta johns in iraq, nastiest thing ever, the bad thing was they would us normal portajohns and squat on top of the place where the seat is and use a water bottle for cleaning. pretty nasty. haha
