I'm totally excited now! I did go to the Convenience store to go ahead and get started vaping today. The one that I got is the 21st Century Smoke. Might not be the be-all, end-all, but I couldn't wait! The starter kit came with 6 cartridges, 2 batteries, 1 atomizer, USB adapter and a wall charger for $39.99. Even if it only lasts a week, it still saved me $16.00! I got the menthol and while it doesn't have that throat hit like the Newports have, it has enough nicotine to satisfy the urge, plus the vapor is pretty good too. At any rate, I'm on my way! I need one of those little thingys to keep track of my days and money and stuff. Where do you all get those? Thank you all for your help and I'm sure I'll talk to you tomorrow! :)

Not sure what that kit is like but at least you got a good price if it works well! The carts dried out too fast on the one I got and I almost gave up but found an easy unit to build and got the consistency I needed.

If you can't get the TH or enough vapor, don't give up.... try another PV

Not sure where to get the day counter things ... maybe if you click on one there a link or some website name on it.

Hi, kboz. I'm new, too. I did the same kind of thing. I ordered a disposable 510 to try it out. I think it's a good idea. That way you can know if it is the e-cig you want and whether or not you want an auto or manual battery.

    Happy vaping!

I think after 5 posts you can add a signature.
You can make them here: http://www.smokewithoutfire.co.uk/eCigSavings.html#

I would suggest looking into the Joye branded 510's if you are looking for another kit the size of a regular cig. Charging those little batteries is time consuming, and for the price of the extra batteries you will need, you may as well get a Riva, Tornado, ego, or the like. They all come in different colors. Liberty Flights is an awesome supplier.

The regular 510 batteries last an hour to an hour and a half, whereas the ego types last 5 to 6 hours. You will need to find some juice too, and learn how to "drip" into the atomizer without using the polyfill in your cartridges.

Juice suppliers that are popular: Backwoods Brew, Tasty Vapor, Vapor Bomb, Mad Vapes, FreedomsmokesUSA, Vaperrite, and many more.

Have fun with vaping! meanwhile watch the newbie videos in the 'sticky posts at the top of the New Members forum, and also click the Library thread there for a link to the Library where you'll find a really good multipart guide that also covers many popular models.

You can get a signature after 15 posts and waiting about an hour for "Edit Signature" to show up in your settings. There are a bunch at the bottom of this page:
    E-Cig Wiki
And you often can click ones people are using here to go to where you can customize your own.

After I customized and generated mine, i copied the HTML version, went to Settings (upper right corner of forum), then Edit Signature. I pasted the HTML in the text box for signatures. Then to get it to show I had to select the whole thing I pasted then press the image icon above the text box (I think it was next to an envelope icon). That added image tag stuff before and after the HTML I had pasted. Then I saved it.

Welcome, welcome! I am glad you find the first part of this journey so exciting! Like many of us, you went retail for your first model. Not a terrible thing (I personally didn't want to smoke for 3-5 days while waiting for one in the mail!), but have you/are you considering ordering a kit online? Which one? So many folks find their "perfect vape" as their 2nd or 3rd model, after a bit of research! Also awesome that you are getting your daughter into it. So much better than smoking. I wish you the best of luck!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here. And if you find yourself craving more, these forums will guide you in the right direction to a better PV, one that could last you forever!

Yes there are colors... That is one of the really cool things about vaping. I personally go for the black model, but after having pink cartos for a few weeks, I am so tempted to buy a pink battery or two!! The black models tend to still look like a cigarette (Djarum Blacks come to mind) but pink is so far out there! Plus, there are "wraps" (remember those book covers in grade school?) you can put around your pv, so you can change colors and designs whenever you'd like. Here's one link, I am sure you can google and find some more! E Cigarette Skins By CigSkinz.com - Home

Don't forget about the flavors!! That is what turned me off to analogs COMPLETELY. You can't change the flavor, and the cigg flavor is just GROSS!! Experimenting with new e-juice flavors is probably my favorite thing! I have a Caramel Apple right now and I'm totally digging it!! Was worried that 30ml was a big commitment (buy 30ml, get 2x10ml bottle free sale I could NOT pass up :p), but it is so yummy!

Best of luck in your journey!!

Welcome to ECF and the wonderful world of vaping. If you upgrade and want more vaper or TH, go with an eGo or Riva. The batteries last longer on both of these units versus the standard Joye 510 kit. Well worth the little extra money.

When you purchase ejuice, make sure you buy a small variety of flavors and strengths. It never hurts to shop around. It will take you at least a month or two to find what you like. You don't see any savings until you find the perfect vape juice and device. If you buy juice and don't like it, let it sit in a cool dark place for a couple of weeks and retry it. You'll be surprised what it will taste like after a good steeping. If you still don't like it, post it on the PIF or classifieds.

Keep us updated on your progress and if you have any questions, please ask before you purchase anything. Everyone here will generally give you a fast response. Please read through the forums. There is a ton of information on about every topic you can think of.

An update after 24 hours! The ecig I bought yesterday has worked great! I don't know if I don't draw on it alot or if it just happens to have a good amount of juice, but I've been using it since yesterday evening without a new cartridge or without recharging the battery. I have smoked 6 analogs since this 24 hours started, which is a lot less than the 20-24 I would've smoked! oh wait... 5 1/2! couldn't get through the last one! and I noticed something...no more wheezing!!! It's awesome. I'm not really thrilled with the flavor of the menthol, but I know it's only temporary until I get a different flavor. Do you suppose I could re-use these cartridges? Just drip the juice on them? or would it eventually end up tasting like menthol-coffee-drpepper-cloves? LOL

My daughter is really excited about starting vaping. She is wanting a stick without an LED at the end, and I guess she found one at the mall. So, we'll see what she does. Either way, I would love to see her quit smoking analogs. We both need that! I'll show her the colored ones as suggested.

I didn't really have enough time today to do much research, but I've sure been enjoying myself! And again, thank you so much for all your advice and help with the counter banner too. One day vaping, $16.00 saved, 19 analogs avoided! =)

Thanks for the welcome, J! Don't know if I would call this a hobby...it's a have to thing, but I can sure see how it could turn into a hobby! I'm excited to go to the shop here in Indy that Vaping4Sanity and another person told me about. I looked them up online and they are only open Mon-Thurs from 11 to 6, but that's still enough time for me to get in there once a week or so. I've smoked 2 analogs since Sunday, and to me that is such an awesome thing! Certainly better than the 50 + I would've smoked. Anyway, Glad you are doing well, and I'm going to steal your little banner! =) Also, good to see you with my friends Jake and Elwood!
    Have an awesome day!
