I ordered a 510 cartomizer starter kit from Electronic Stix. It came today but with no instructions. :( I can tell the two batteries from the (pre-loaded) cartomizers. I can tell the USB charger from the wall charger.

Aside from that, I am clueless! How do I put this thing together? Obviously, a carto goes into a battery. Do I charge the battery first? Which end goes in the battery?

Assuming I know when it's charged (?), do I then just push the button and drag? Do I have to turn it off?

As excited as I am to have this thing, some instructions would have been nice!! As a former technical writer, I actually read instructions!

Congradulations on getting your first PV. Yeah, PV's come with little or no instructions. That's what keeps the ECF New Members Forum alive. Charge a battery, but there will be some charge in them anyway so it won't take too long. I'd just use the other one while the first one is charging. When it's done, switch them so you can keep one in use and one on the charger all the time. Prefilled cartomizers make it easier. Just screw one on and you're ready to go. Push the button about 1/2 second before taking a drag, and let the button go when you're done. When the flavor changes, it'll take a while with the cartomizers, refill it with juice if you have it, or put another prefilled carto on. Don't throw the used carto's away, refill them when you get juice. It's a lot cheaper to fill them yourself. You'll be able to refill them quite a few times before they start performing poorly. If you have any more questions just post, that's what the forum is for.

okwriter, the cartomizer will draw a lot better after a few puffs.....it needs to break in a little. And....sometimes the prefilled juice is not delicious. After you puff on one for awhile (maybe an hour or so...or when it starts tasting different,) you can refill it with some of the juice that I hope you bought. There are several youtube videos about how to refill the cartomizers. Come back on here and TELL US how it's going. We can totally help with any questions you have. Also, did you know we have a vendor in Sand Springs? They are Vapor Kings: Joye eGo | Joye 510 | Electronic Cigarette supplies | Batteries, atomizers, cartomizers, e-Liquid and more! is in SS and they have cartomizers for your PV. That's handy to know because they can get stuff to you in like 2 days.

The instructions with the 510 batteries say the first time you charge the battery, you should charge it for 8 hours, vape with it for 20 minutes, and then charge 1 additional hour. Ignore the red/green battery light. After the initial charge, you should charge them for 1 hour.

Right or wrong, that's what the directions say.

Enjoy!

Here is a little money saving tip for you: You may find the battery life on the 510 is a little short. If you are like me, it will work really good for a few days and then you will be wishing the batteries lasted longer because you vape constantly and the batteries can't keep up. Don't do what I did and buy more 510 batteries, just move up to the eGo and be done with it. All of your 510 cartomizers and such will fit the eGo and the battery life is much better. Also, buy juice and refill rather than shelling out money for prefilled cartomizers. Much cheaper and you can try all the different flavors.

Okay, well I admit to taking a puff when the light went green. Alright, it was two puffs. Or three or four. I LIKED IT! But I'm working on an outside project today with the power washer, so I put it back on the charger and will try to wait until tonight to really give it a go.

I ordered juice from another vendor (after trying one site whose ordering process crashed my browser...twice...), and it should be here Monday. I've watched the videos and read a little about refilling the cartomizers, plus I have some blank ones coming with my juice.

JC, thanks for the info on the Sand Springs vendor! I have a friend who lives there. Maybe she can buy and bring me supplies when I convert her from analogs.
:)

THANKS so much to everyone for your help!
