Just got this email.

Dear Virgin Vapor Customers,.

I write you today with news that may.disappoint some but is a.positive and.inevitable step Virgin Vapor must take in order to meet current and future regulatory.requirements for all e.liquid manufacturers..Starting January 15th, we will no longer.be offering custom mixes. This includes customized and personal flavors, extra flavor.shots, customized VG/PG mixes, or custom nicotine levels.

We are taking this step in order to be in compliance with the requirements of our.AEMSA membership as well as to prepare for anticipated FDA regulations. Our principal.scientist, Dr. Marc Foster, oversees the meticulous testing of every batch of Virgin Vapor.e.liquid to ensure strict quality control and exact nicotine levels. It is not possible to.individually test single bottles so we must discontinue these orders to remain in.compliance with our AEMSA membership. We believe that with FDA regulations coming.this year, all e.liquid manufacturers will soon be required to follow suit.

If it appears that the deeming regulations are going to go through as published, expect most, if not all companies to do something similar (provided they just don't close shop).

Yes, and that's what worries me. We have all been talking about FDA this or that and taxes and regulations etc. But when you actually get an email from a vendor, it makes it much more real and unfortunately it's just the beginning

I got that one too. I wonder what regulations they are anticipating. Do they know more than us about what might be coming? I know VV are part way through getting accredited with AEMSA. That appears to be quite a complicated process. If testing and quality control is all the FDA imposes I would be happy. And a bit surprised.

The requirements (if approved) will force companies to submit paperwork for each product they produce. So if you have 30 different flavors, at 6, 12, 18 and 24mg, that's 120 forms (with the associated fees) that has to be submitted. And no deviation will be permitted once approved, so custom orders (extra flavor shots, etc.) will be a thing of the past.

Wow! That would destroy companies like Vista with over 200 flavors. I see a lot of companies reducing their flavor profiles!!

That is disappointing because I always get extra flavor shots when I order itc vapes juice. That would kill their business from me if this comes to fruition because I first ordered no extra flavor and it was very muted. With the flavor shot though, I find their juice amazing for the price.

Other than the regs being a big pile of steaming bleep, what mg juices do you think most places will stock? I assume they will carry high nic ones and tell people to thin with 0mg, but not sure.

Nah... they will just sell three products... unflavored nicotine 6, 12, or 24mg

and give you a free flavor packet to squirt in it when it arrives at your house.

We aint going down without exploring every loophole and putting up a fight...

every single device sold will have a 99 cent flashlight end on it... take it off and it becomes an ecig battery...

We all have to fill out forms. I guess the devil is in the details. Like how large the fees are, and how long the approval takes. If they had to do it all at once and stop selling until the approvals were in place that could sink the ship. Has any of this been defined in the proposed requirements?

I thought the same thing, maybe we get mini DIY kits per order instead of ready to steep juice :sneaky:

Got to love those loopholes. I built a deck on the back of my house last year. I seriously considered getting a permit, until I talked to someone who had done that. Instead I built a high fence so nobody could see me working from the street. The permit process could be a good thing, but they make it so onerous and expensive that everybody cheats. The same will be true with vaping regs.

Idk, I think that might be spun a bit. This is totally just an opinion... but I think that as companies grow they would naturally stop doing custom blends. From a mass production standpoint it would lower efficiency and waste resources. Now if you are a mom and pop shop it would make sense, but not if you are a big company trying to keep up with the ever growing demand for juice.
