And for the people who have mentioned the second wick... is there another one that is not visible without taking it apart? I just need to take it apart when I get home from work I see...
The slits on the T3 is U-shaped which need the additional 2 "flavor wick" to plug the gap to prevent flooding. Below is a pic of the side view (showing the slit) to give you an idea of what I'm referring to:

1.jpg

The blue circle represents the main 2mm wick (blue) which is coiled whereas the "flavor wicks" (red) are just strands taken from a silica wick to lay on top of the main wick (not coiled). There are some gaps (within or between wickes) to allow the eliquid to flow to the coil but too much gap leads to flooding and too little leads to dry hits. Also the number of air holes and the viscosity of the eliquid comes into play; 2 air holes and higher PG% eliquids tends to flood easier than 3 air holes and higher VG% eliquids.

Here's the problem in a nutshell on all of these Clearomizers. Some work ok, some don't. Some work sometimes. It's called CQC. Crappy Quality Control! I've been sucked in a few times, in fact I have three T3's sitting on my desk doing nothing. I won't get fooled again!

Hey man, If it were not for the fact that we are on opposite sides of the world I'd be happy to take those T3s off your hands. Since my first disappointment with the missing wick saga I have been vaping T3s like crazy and been getting great results with 100% PG and also an 80/20 mix. Never a single leak or a dry hit. Picture might change when I get round to trying a 60/40 mix but I know enough now to remove one or even both of the top wicks for thicker juices. There is one strange thing though. My batteries of choice are Joye ego-twists but I have some other shorter egos (or ego knock offs). My T3s work perfectly as I have said on most of the batteries, not at all on others. Nothing to do with capacity or state of charge so it has to be minor differences in the threading. Might work it out one day but for now I am a very happy Kanger T3 vaper. If at first you don't succeed .......

I have both white and black markings for the tanks. They are just a touch different in size but the base is still the same. I use a zmax 2 and vape without the plastic cap over the wicks. If I had to use the cap I would trash this in a heartbeat. However, I have had good luck and a fantastic vape. I do break in the new coil at about 6 watts then increase to 7 after a day. This works for me. I do not have any flooding or flavor problems with my t3 system. :)

I tried to give as much info as possible with my issue but you reminded me that I left out my pg/vg ratio... everything I've been vaping 50/50 being new and not sure what combo to try yet... could that be the issue? Anybody use T3's with a 50/50 ratio?

I have experienced the exact same issue as the OP. Love the vape, heck love everything about the T3 except it will start leaking at some point, usually when it is less than half full or when going from inside to outside (when very cold outside). When it starts leaking there is NO stopping it. All the leaking is through the 510 air connection on to the battery top. Two different T3's, both the "2 air hole version". Oh and I did not get mine from Gotvapes.

Back to my trusty, reliable Vivi Novas.

Just curious Phanto, do you have the ones with black ml markings or white? According to PBusardo the black work great but the white ...... not so much.

Black or white, no difference to me racially, socially or vaperly. Yes I have both but what matters is the coil/head and the voltage from your battery. I now have some LR and some SR heads and I have swapped them around a number of times. No leaks, no burnt taste, but I do change the voltage from 4.2v with the standard heads down to 3.6v with the 1.8ohm coils. Actually, I've just completed a test to see if I can get a burnt taste. The test unit has white printing and a 1.8ohm coil. Was going to make a seperate post but might as well do it right here.

"I've been vaping happily with an 80/20 mix but decided on another little experiment. Topped up a little bottle of my mix with VG which converted the 80/20 to about 64/36. Did not bother to add any more flavour concentrate or nico so obviously the vape would be a bit different. Outcome - much as predicted: the thicker juice gave me a first ever burnt taste from a T3. So I removed the top wicks (gone in 60 secs) and tried again. Flavour and TH a bit less for obvious reasons, even thicker clouds of vapour from the extra VG and, most important, no more burnt taste and still no leaks. Love these T3s. BTW this particular unit has a 1.8ohm coil running at 3.6v: I'll check this new mix on a second unit currently fitted with a standard coil running at 4.2v later on today but I do not expect much difference - we shall see!"

Update: Added a bit more VG so now have 50/50 mix: testing first tank with standard head: upped the voltage to 4.4: great so far.

You need to remove the wicks above the coil for thicker juices - with care, don't want to mess up the wick inside the coil.

I've been using 100% VG from Johnson Creek (their Red Oak line) on the T3 with no problems at all. Maybe it's just the way JC makes its 100% VG juices, but they flow quite well.

There was only one wick above the coil, I removed it, tried it again, and there does seem to be an improvement as it works better but I'm still getting juice leaking onto the battery, though not as bad as before to the point where I have to abort. I took it off and juice is not on my desk like last night.
