Almost 60 days cig free, thanks to e-cigs.
I love vaping, but I HATE dealing with coils.

I use Kanger ProTanks almost exclusively, and keep a couple of EVODs as back ups. I love my ProTanks. The started kit I ordered forever ago came with CE4's. That was a total nightmare and quickly switched to glass clearos.

I feel like I don't get enough life out of my coils/attys. Sometimes I am lucky to get a week out of one, even with cleaning/rinsing. I will often meddle with the top wick (remove it, or replace it depending on the liquid and which clearo I am using).

I know a couple of my juices may be the culprit to my short atty life, but I've heard people saying they will get a couple months out of their attys before having to replace them, and I wish it was the same for me!

All my juices are 80%PG and 20%VG. I'm one of those rare folks that can't handle VG in high doses as it makes me cough.

Some of the juices I am using all from MtBaker:

Thug juice-this one isn't too heavy of a juice and not known to be an atty clogger.

Black Clove-could be an atty clogger because it's pretty dark.

Cinnamon ROll-not very dark at all, but this one is really finnicky. One moment I am totally loving and enjoying it, then the next minute, it tastes like chemicals.

How do you maintain perfectly flavored and great functioning atty's all the time without having to change them once/week? Or is this normal and those people getting months' worth are the crazy ones?

BTW....I've tried rebuilding my attys...and to make a long story short, that is DEFINITELY not for me. :)

Shame rebuilding didn't work out, best coil life I have ever gotten is with RBA's, I have had coils last months in an AGA T+ and an AGI.
I don't know, but I suspect the wire China uses isn't as good a quality as wire from someplace like Temco.

You say you have rinsed and cleaned, you could try the vodka soak some swear by, or dry burning, doesn't sound like you have a lot to lose if they don't work. I hope someone chimes in with some suggestions to help.

And I don't know where my wire came from...but I bought it at a local B & M. I followed the YouTube video precisely. The first 2 I did sort of functioned, but tasted AWFUL. I tried again, but none of the other ones I re-built did anything. Just shut my battery down.

I don't have an "OHM" tester either (multimeter?) but I don't have time for that anyway. I got so frustrated--my eyesight is terrible and it is hard working with those tiny things.

I use mini pro tank and evods. I have a total of 3 and switch around but I rarely get more than a week out of coils. Apple cinnamon roll is my go to flavor, and I end up rinsing and dry burning that one every other day. The coils out of the box I don't have much luck with though they seem to be very easy to pop dry burning.

I agree about rebuilding - tried it, and not my thing.
I can't say I'd get more than a week if I used just one, I keep probably 6 in rotation so it can be days and days between a coil going bad, lol. I just wash them every couple tanks.
Still, I just bought like 50 in a co-op, direct from Kanger, for pretty cheap. I just figure it's a cost of vaping, and instead tried mixing my own juice. THAT worked out great - and there's more money to save on that side anyway!

I soak my Kanger coils in vodka for several hours to over-night. Let air dry, pop in, and go. Only one is dead after 100+ days--my original short pipe EVOD. I don't use any thick, dark or super sweet liquids and I believe that is one reason my coils last so long but the vodka soak is the #2 reason.

There's a little well kept secret running around in the world of vaping
that has to do with one special and the very best of the best COILs
it's Aspire's BDC...

This Aspire's BDC has had a bad rap given it because the contact pin
will not make contact with all the different mods in the Vaping World.
But... there's a simple fix for that and it has to do with wrapping
some Sewing Thread between the little contact pin and the head...
I wrap 12 times and tie it off... that's all there is to that!

When you look at the picture below of the Aspire BDC... Notice closely
that there is a little hole on one side... there is another on the other side...

These holes let fuel (e-liquid soak freely) make contact with insulation all around
on the walls of the chamber that incloses the dual coils of the head.
Causing a HEATED moisture that crosses the COILS upward...

NEVER are the coils impaired with any GUNK... NEVER!
THEY VAPORIZE the moisture sending it directly up the channel
to the USER.... instead of a portion to the user and some outward
into wick and the tank...

The enclosed coils (even a MONTH LATER) are never covered with any GUNK..!!!

If you have an e-liquid that has no flavor... you will know no flavor...

If you have and E-Liquid that has flavor... You will know it for sure!
The ASPIRE BDC heads are that special...!

Note: Never start out vaping your Mod on any but the lowest setting...
You can then raise the voltages or wattages up... Any sooner may burn your coils
and or damage your tanks insulation.

So this is considered an atomizer....not a "tank" that you fill up with juice? I only have experience with ProTanks and EVODS. This would be "dripping", correct?

Tell me more about this...how many drops do you drip at one time? Is this an atomizer that is considered rebuildable and I can just replace the heads when needed? You said they NEVER gunk up which is nice.

I am also on the road a lot. Since this is a dripping atomozer (or correct me if I'm wrong) it would probably not work well for long car trips, no?

I have been wanting to know more about dripping for a long time. Thanks for your help and the advice you have already provided.

OH...and I use Vision Spinners. No modding yet for me. How do you think this device will work with my spinners?

I don't mean to confuse you... sorry for doing so.
This is a simple atty... that can go into many different types of tanks.
Vivi Novas... including their Minis... All kinds of Aspire Tanks...
that fit on many different types of MODs and or Spinners etc...
I use them on my MVP 2.0 and Spinners for back up
below is a picture of one type of tank I use called an Aspire BDC 5-s
...it has the head aka atty inside of it the I speak of... and is picture before...

You must have multimeter or an ohms checker if you rebuild coils. Your battery probably shut down either because your coils have a short or the ohms were to low. If you keep abusing your battery like that one day it may not shut and die. It may also overheat and violently vent and or cause a fire. The wiring and circuits in these batteries are not by any imagination what I can call robust. They can and do fail for almost any reason and at any time.

There are people who can get months out of a coil but mostly depends on the juice. I get a month or more with clear single flavor fruit juices. With some of my tobacco juices a coil may not last more than a few days. A week to three weeks seems to be about average.

No worries, I am not hurting my batteries because I am not rebuilding my coils, as I stated earlier that it's just not for me.

I still hate coils, but have happily accepted the fact that I will just replace them as needed. I've been saving spent coils to boil them clean followed by a good rinse with a water gun. :) If that doesn't get them clean, nothing will!

Just cleaning doesn't get the carbon buildup off. You need to burn to do that but burning is easy. I throw mine into a small jar of alcohol whenever I replace one. Then when I have a dozen or so I burn them. The reason I use alcohol is because it dissolves a lot of the gunk and evaporates rapidly to speed up speeds the burning.
