Please be kind to this SUPER newb-baby.

I've been vaping Menthol Arctic. I have 6 samples to try and have two questions:

a) Best way to change "flavors"? Should I wash out the tip? (I'm still learning the "lingo" sorry) or put a new one on?

b) Which one first? Any suggestions??

Voodoo?
Watermelon/Kiwi?
Thin Mint?
Tranquil?
Hopscotch?
Wyatt Earp?

I am using a 510 with atomizer and cart, so when I want to change flavors, I remove the blue foam from my cart and then put new blue foam into the cart and go from there. When one orders an atomizer for the 510, it comes with an empty cart, so I just fill those with blue foam instead of paying for pre-loaded carts.

Blank carts are very cheap. I bought a few dozen, and dedicate a cart to each flavor.

About changing flavors in the atty: yes, blow them out, but even when doing that expect the old flavor to blend with the new when vaping the first couple of carts of the new juice. You can also clean the atty out (search in the google box up top for "cleaning atty" and you'll find lots of advice. Even doing that, though, there are some flavors that are very difficult to remove from the atty (mostly things like cinnamon, licorice, etc.). I dedicate a atty that I use solely for each of those flavors.

I would use the lightest flavor first, maybe Hopscotch then Wyatt, Thin Mint. Then after cleaning the atty I would try all the fruity flavors from the lightest to the more flavorful. All caramel, vanilla, butterscotch go good with tobacco flavors. Watermelon is a hard one to mix with others. Mint will cover mostly anything up. You can rinse the flavors out of the atty with water, blow them out some people let them dry over night I just blow them out till no more water comes out heat the atty a few times then blow them out again drop juice on bridge and vape.

I bought 5 extra carts... and got 5 preloaded ones (I haven't tried those yet).

So should I just keep my "usual" menthol cart and use another to try the others?

That's what I'd do. But it is also really easy to clean the carts out successfully (attys are more difficult). I use dedicated carts purely for convenience.

Sorry to threadjack, but how does one clean the filler in the cart?

I've got 5 preloaded carts, and it tastes awful. Even while still on analogs, it's awful. I have some other filler/ flavor that seems to be alright (waiting for my ordered flavours to arrive).

I've got an eGo with the 510 atty and cart.

Does one just pull out the batting, rinse under hot water, wait to dry, stuff back in and drop the new flavour in?

I have an extra atty... should I dedicate one to my menthol and the other for "testing" or is it not that much of a biggy?

One would think that as a scientist this wouldn't be SO difficult! It's just a new science to me! Maybe that's why I'm loving it!

I rinse the filler & cart, boil some water and soak the cart & filler in the hot water for 15 mins. Squish the filler in your fingers a few times (like wringing out a sponge.) Then I dump the water, boil a new batch, and do it again. Then let it dry overnight.

If you're like me and a little ...., you can also remove the cap from the end with the hole where you put your mouth on (you can see a little seam, use your fingernail there and it'll come off) so make sure that the juice residue is rinsed well from that end of the cart. It'll pop back when you're done, no problem.

Also, I very much recommend replacing the stock filler with some blue foam. It's a better vape that way, and the foam cleans up a lot easier.

Princess -

1. You should have spare atomizers - atomizers can die, and it's good to have one to switch to when you need to clean one

2. What ecig do you have? If you have a 510 buy the precut blue foam for 510 at strictlyejuice.com so your stuffing will be easy to remove, rinse and pat dry

3. I test juices by dripping on an atomizer on manual batteries (not recommended for auto batteries)

I don't know what ecig you have

Voodoo has something cinnamon-like in it - try it last because cinnamon flavor will hangs around aa bit

If you want to get it online uncut here is one place: Marineland Rite-Size U Bonded Foam Sleeve Sleeves, the link also shows what they mean by 'blue foam'.

Some PV vendors also sell bits of the stuff pre-cut for your carts.

You can also get it at your local pet store (fish tank supplies).

The blue fish tank filter foam? I think I have some of that!! (saltwater tank that never happened) So you just cut it?

Yes, there are many threads here that show different ways to cut and pack the foam. Just try an ECF search for 'cart mod' 'foam' and so forth until you find some good threads :)

Also, some people prefer using 'PTB mods' (Pyramid Tea Bag the nylon stuff, NOT the paper kind).

Cartomizers are two piece deals...the atomizer is built into the cartridge which contains some kind of polyfill or tank/wick system. Cartomizers can hold more juice...just screw them on and vape. They range from 6bucks a 5 pack on up to 15bucks per five pack for some of the more fancy kinds. They can also be purchased 'prefilled' at some places.

Thank you! I really feel like I am learning a whole new language here.

I can report that Hopscotch is yummy-liscious.

I blew out the atomizer, and added a new cartridge.

I have three "samples" that are dark and three that are "light" I'm guessing that color must mean something?

I also have another question that I can find the answer to here. Should I make another post? I've searched.
