Just a few links to some popular cartomizer designs/brands...no vendor preference or best pricing here, I'm just posting what pops up first in searches...trying to go with manufacture sites where possible. Most vendors will carry at least one of these types if not all...if they don't say the brand you can ask them :)

Polyfill types:
Boge
Wholesale Disposable Atomizer/Cartomizer boge 510D Electronic Cigarette, Disposable Atomizer/Cartomizer boge 510D Electronic Cigarette Suppliers,Disposable Atomizer/Cartomizer boge 510D Electronic Cigarette Manufacturer

Bloog (808 threads...needs adapter for 510)
Electronic Cigarette Cartomizers

Kanger
No link, but they make pretty good cartos for the 808 threads, maybe for 510 as well...needs an adapter to use with 510

SmokTech
Smoktech Electronic Cigarette Manufacturer China|E-Liquid|Disposable Electronic Cigarette|E-Cigarettes|E-Cigs|Electronic Cigarettes

CE2 Type (also sold at gotvapes.com as Fluxomizer)
RoyalSmokers electronic cigarette factory in Shenzhen
GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

T Type (Vortex at gotvapes.com) (Kanger?) Haven't seen in 510 yet, so need adapter if you're not using KR808 batteries.
GotVapes VORTEX 808 Bottom Coil Clearomizer - 1.2ml 2.7ohm 5PK [gotvapes-808vortex-2.7ohm] - $12.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

No doubt there are other cartomizer brands and types! Joye has their own brand...I can't keep up with them all, but this gives you some idea of what they look like and do :)

Princess -

3. I test juices by dripping on an atomizer on manual batteries (not recommended for auto batteries)

I don't know what ecig you have

Voodoo has something cinnamon-like in it - try it last because cinnamon flavor will hangs around aa bit

I have the Joye510.... how do you test them on the battery?

I have three "samples" that are dark and three that are "light" I'm guessing that color must mean something?

In theory the darker juices have more pigments that can gunk up the atomizer coil over time. Some note that darker juices might be a little 'thicker' and wick slower.

I'm not convinced that the color of the juice means much, but yet, it can be an indicator that the juice might leave behind more residue and flavor than a more clear juice.

For 'juice tasting parties'...I like to do the following:
Set aside 3 or 4 atties.
One for sweet/thick desert like flavors.
One for tobaccos and spicy cinnamon/clove stuff.
One for fruity and citrus type stuff (oh, and sour candy stuff as well).

In doing this, I find that I don't have do much more than blow out the atty real good then start dripping my new flavor. It might take a few drops of vaping for the old flavor to totally go away, but it's usually just fine for me.

I like to keep a low resistance atomizer around as well. Thicker things like coffee and chocolate sometimes vapes much better to me.

For standard stick type 510 batteries, LR would be around 2ohms on resistance. I wouldn't go below 2ohms on the regular batteries. Also, I wouldn't go above 2.8ohms or so.

Standard atomizers are usually close to 2.5ohms.

For reference...the lower the resistance, the hotter the coils will burn.

What about vaping in the room with birds?

I never smoked inside. But he's used to my perfume and room spray. Will this harm him?

I also have two cats, they are just in and out... My bird is just old and just stuck in my office with me.

I am just trying to be a "responsible" parent.

Vaping should be fine with your pets. It gives off water vapor and that's about it. Some juices will have a small bit of aroma...and most of that is the smell of the raw juice in the cart, or from where it gets heated at the coil...not from the vapor itself.

The ingredients in e-liquid are PG (Propylene Glycol), VG (Vegetable Glycerin), flavorings, and nicotine (can also get with 0nic). I think your air freshener and perfume has a stronger chance of bothering a pet :)

You do want to keep the actual juices and carts away from pets and children however. If they played with it or consumed some it could make them quite ill if they have nicotine.

Now you're getting too scientific for me!! lol

I have the Joye510.... how do you test them on the battery?

Remove the stuffing from one of your blank carts. Put the atomizer on the battery without a cart, then drip 3 or 4 drops of juice directly onto the atomizer. Attach your stuffing-less cart and vape!

Dripping is a convenient way of testing new juices, and some people really enjoy it for their regular vaping. Personally, I prefer using carts for regular vaping and drip to try out new juices before deciding to fill an entire cart with them.

If you have manual batteries, there will be a button that you push. Auto batteries, you just drag and an air switch inside fires up the atomizer.

To 'drip'.
This just means you are not using any cart, but instead dripping right on the atomizer bridge.

If you look down inside the atty, you will see some wire mesh looking stuff.
Drip 3 to 5 drops on that mesh.
Snap on a drip tip, or a cart that has NO FILLER in it.

Those few drops should last several puffs before they start to taste dry.

If you want more hits, just add a drop to the bridge every 4 or 5 puffs. This is called 'keeping the atty wet' for constant vaping of a particular flavor without using carts or cartos.

If you have 'auto batteries' be very careful not to drip too much. The juice can run down into these kinds of batteries and ruin them. If you have manual batteries, they are sealed off...just wipe them off good when juice gets down in the threads :)

Low Resistance. But really, you don't have to worry about that yet. It's easy to get overwhelmed with the sheer quantity of information and options. Get comfortable with the equipment that you have, and read the various posts that come up here. Over time, you'll get to know the various ways you can make the whole experience even better for you!

LR?

*this message is too short*

LR = Low Resistance

I doubt you have one yet with your starter kit.
Sorry, I got carried away :)

My main point was about having 3 or 4 atomizers at hand if you find that you enjoy changing flavors alot throughout the day.

For me, the 4th atty is LR in case I run across a flavor I'd like to try with a little more heat under it.

I.E. Earlier you asked about devoting one of your atomizers to the menthol flavors. I do just that...of course I can still clean it out and use it for any flavor I like, but it sure is much easier for me to keep a few attys or cartomizers around devoted to 'flavor families'.
