I am building a dna 30 and I want to run it with one Sony vtr4. I have read all sorts of info here on selecting the right hardware but when I get looking for the fuse I just get frustrated and confused. Please help me locate the appropriate fuse.

The right fuse or fuses for you is going to depend on you, your enclosure, etc.

For a dna 30 you want a fuse(s) for 12 amps or close to it. If you use a PTC resettable fuse you want to go off the hold spec.

Using two fuses in parallel reduces the resistance imparted by half. So I recommend using two 6amp fuses.

You also want to look for a fuse with the least amount of resistance, typically the lower the voltage the fuse is rated for the lower the resistance is.

Here is search at mouser for 6amp PTC resettable fuses - Resettable Fuses - PPTC | Mouser

Here are a couple of good options

LR4-600XF TE Connectivity / Raychem | Mouser

16R600GU - LITTELFUSE 16R600GU - FUSE, PTC RESET, 16V, 6A, RADIAL | Newark element14 US

Remember if you go with 6 amp you need need two fuses. You can also go with a single 12 amp fuse it makes it easier for your build.

Thank you so much! I can't say it enough. I doubted that I was looking in the right place for the right thing even after reading all the info I could find on fuses I just couldn't trust myself. I am really glad you supplied a few options. I feel a little more confident that I'm not a compete numb skull, at least I was looking at similarly rated products. Thank you again
