I have a Noob DIY Question.....

Hello Everyone!
I'm an ex-smoker and a new vaper with a quick question about beginning the process of mixing my own juice.
I have been unsuccessful in my search for an ADV, most everything I have tried is just too sweet, although I have enjoyed French Vanilla!
Anyway, I have purchased some Nicotine Base from Nude Nicotine (100%VG with 12mg of nic) and a bottle their concentrated Patchouli Vanilla. Am I correct that I can use the base nic/vg without any dilution? My intention is to vape unflavored, or add the flavoring when I want to. I will not be using any PG in my ejuice but I may cut the VG thickness with distilled water? Also, what percentage of flavoring would I add for a 30ml bottle to start without it being too sweet?
Thanks!

Making juice is honestly touch and feel. I would sit down one day with the flavoring and try making smaller batches until you find the right flavor because your preference is different from others. And yes since the nicotine is not pure nicotine you can use that. If it was pure nicotine you would have to dilute it with either pg or vg but the company already did it for you. Just write down how much flavoring you use until you find the right amount. Good luck its all trial and error!

Ummmm... what is an ADV?

I've been buying my nicotine from Nude Nicotine for almost two years, 100mg/ml, and I'm puzzled about 12mg nicotine base. If you mix anything with that of course you will dilute it. I vape 12mg juice I make with their nicotine, and I don't start with a 12mg base, but with 100 proof nicotine in PG. You could get it in VG as well.

I'm afraid I can't speak to your questions as I have a very different approach to DIY than you intend to employ, and I have trouble understanding what you are trying to do. Why not just mix unflavored 100 ml batches in straight VG with 12 ml of 100 proof nicotine in VG?

It would be duck soup. 88 ml of VG, 12 ml of 100 proof nicotine in VG and if you want to add flavoring just subtract the flavoring amount from the 88 ml of VG.

ADV stands for advanced digital vaporizer. Basically any vv or vw with a screen (IPV, Jellyfish, Segelei etc...)

What you have will vape 12mg as it is. If you add flavor to it, it will be diluted some. Same same with water. No more than 10% water, I'd say, and add flavor starting about about 5% and jumping in 2% steps until you get it where you want it. I strongly suggest you use a juice calculator and I would further suggest you buy you nic base stronger-- I usually use 100mg as a good compromise between cost and safety to handle-- and dilute it as needed. Be further advised most flavors are PG based-- there are some that are alcohol and others that are water-- so you'll be adding some of whatever it is to your flavored mixes. Really, this is a trial and error thing. Make small batches and test them until you get what you want, then make them up in whatever size you feel like storing.

All Day Vape, okay I get it. Too many acronyms anymore. When I got into DIY that's exactly what I was after and I got it. I came up with a juice that was better than anything I'd bought from the B&M's at any price and now people at work are after me for it. As an object of your own DIY efforts it's a very worthy pursuit. For my own part I didn't muck about with the small 10ml batches approach, the results do not readily scale up accurately and if you are successful you WILL want to scale it up.

What I did was go with 100ml Erlenmeyer flasks and a 50ml graduated cylinder for measuring nic and flavorings. That way ml = mg of nic in your 100ml batch with 100 proof nic. After that it's just a matter of working out the flavoring mix, or single flavor and just subtract the amount of flavorings from the VG/PG it's going into.

I'm aware of diluting the nicotine some with the additives and it's acceptable for it to not be exactly 12mg. I will be using the 100mg nic eventually but for now just baby steps. The juice I just received from The Clean Vape uses Nude Nicotine and man, it must really be strong or the B&M stuff don't have any nicotine in it...........

Yeah, that's how I felt too. It's a new thing you are getting into and you need to feel your way along it. I did try dripping drops of flavorings and nic into a 10ml bottle to start, but I lost patience with that approach quickly because it was on just too small a scale to be at all accurate or reproducible. The results varied widely. Once I scaled up results got a lot more consistent and accurate. Drops of liquids in a 10ml bottle are are not as accurate as measured milliliters in a 100ml batch.

Laboratory glassware and accurate syringes were a big help in this.

If you are aiming for an ADV you will want it to be consistently the same stuff you vape every day. In my own experience this is a lot easier to achieve on the 100ml scale.
