I was reading and watching some guides on here about DIY juices...although I'm not ready to start mixing, I was wondering what is the Nicotine juice you buy that you add flavorings to actually called?

For instance, I was watching MistressNomads vid on DIY juices...she pointed out a bottle of Nic, VG/PG dilution and your flavoring. From what I've seen on supplier sites, the Nic juice usually comes as unflavored AND premixed with VG/PG....I have not seen a seller with just straight up Nic. I take it this mixture is the same solution, just adding steps 1 and 2 together...just add flavoring right?

The mixing juice in always nic diluted with PG or VG. Nicotine is extremely poisonous and in its pure form will probably kill a few people. I’m no expert but I think you can even absorb enough through the skin to get seriously ill (or dead) very fast. Having the diluted mixing juice makes it easier to attain the density you are aiming for as well.

Yah...MistressNomad pointed out how dangerous the pure Nic was. (I would definitely wear gloves my first few batches) Anyway, she got it straight up and was able to add her PG/VG herself, I was just assuming it would be cheaper mixing each component rather than buying it already prepackaged by someone else, in their volumes.....your mixes would last longer buying each in larger volume. I just was not able to find all 3 sold individually, only the premix and flavoring. (anyone could point me to a site that does?)

The nic juice in the video IS CONCENTRATED.. in other words there is 48mg per ML if it is 48mg no flavor nic juice..

I did some playing around tonight with some VG (USP Humco Glyserin from walmart) and some McCormicks extracts... I just wanted to see if I could get it the right consistency and flavor and it vape before ordering No flavor Nic juice... I tried French Vanilla, Raspberry and almond... ALL worked great.. Tons of vapor and flavor.. So I will be ordering Nic juice tomorrow.. MyFreedomsmokes has a 48mg 60ml for a really good price.. I will order 100% PG so I can cut it with the VG... This is my experience from reading and experimenting.

Others with more experience may be better help but just thought I would share...

My question is with flavor and VG I get tons of vapor but no throat hit... I have seen where people add PGA to No nic juice will this give a throat hit till my nic gets here?

I wouldnt be the one to be able to answer that Tinman, but I think I read in another thread that if you add PGA, it has to be very little. I forgot where I was reading this before.....but I guess like your saying....I could live with the premade Nic juice and just add my own flavoring...I was just wondering why I couldnt find it sold by itself, and if the cost is really all that different than mixing it yourself.

what it is is the nic juice you buy is unflavored at a stronger strength ie: 60mg mixed with pg or vg or both. then you add strait vg of strait pg which will bring down the nic strength to what you want. so the 3 components to get is nic juice already mixed, strait vg or pg and flavoring.

NETSPYMAN

Ahhhh that makes sense =) thanks for that clarification.....

Actually, she had 60 mg which is 6% nicotine to 94% PG. You add extra PG and/or VG to cut the % down farther. For example, I vape 18 mg juice, which means I mix 9 mls of 60% nicotine solution with 7.5 mls of plain PG and 4.5 mls of VG plus my percentage of flavorings to create 30 mls of 18 mg 85% PG 15% VG juice.

The onestopdiyshop.com that Mistress mentions does have the nic liquid and plain PG and VG on their site, along with the other things you'll need like supplies and flavorings. The highest they carry though is 36 mg. I get my nic liquid and PG/VG from the other place Mistress talked about, which is myfreedomsmokes.com. They carry everything except the flavorings, and the nic liquid goes all the way up to 100 mg or 10%. Just remember MistressNomad's warnings, I got a nic OD headache just from a small amount of 60 mg juice that leaked from my last ordered bottle. The outside of the bottle was slick with it and I grabbed it bare handed before I realized what had happened.

yep thanks stormfinch.. I was understanding it wrong and that fixed my logic..

So I ordered 60ml of 60mg... I am 18mg vaper.. I ordered 100% pg so I just cut it with my vg and flavor.. Since I want a higher VG than PG anyway I should be good without the extra PG..Good stuff..

Also I downloaded a calculator.. called "ejuice me up".. So I won't screw it up... I hope.. Do I still need to do the vodka/pga thing? if so what percentage would be recommended?

Sorry to tag along in your thread with questions stringboi but figured no need to start another to cover the same gorund..

Yes you can buy it more concentrated and save some money, for example I buy mine at 54mg. It's still diluted in PG (or VG if you like) so I can dilute it even more and make 24mg or 18mg or 36mg juice if I want to. You don't want to handle undiluted nicotine juice without a ventilation hood, gas mask, plastic suit, etc... but you can buy it relatively strong and still dilute it.

Sorry, somehow I missed this one.

I don't think you'll have to worry about using alcohol or the like in your mix Tinman. Usually it's used to cut the thickness of pure VG or break down oil based flavorings. With an 18 mg mix, even if you only use 10% flavoring, you're still cutting the VG down to 60%, which should be thin enough. I would suggest only making a 5 ml batch to start with just to make sure though.
