I have a problem with dripping...

Sometimes, usually when dealing with a new or freshly cleaned and dried atty, i cant get dripping to work right.

The atty keeps giving me a burnt taste, so i drop 3 more drops, and then it floods. I have a real hard time getting new/clean attys to vape properly without flooding or giving a burnt taste. It either tastes burnt or is flooded and not hitting properly... i cannot find the happy medium.

Other times, (on an atty that ive been dripping with for days) dripping works the best. It's getting an atty into dripping mode that i have a real hard time with.

FYI, i always drip 3 drops onto my atty to vape.

Edit- im actually thinking of making one of my attys my dedicated dripping atty and removing the bridge...

Any suggestions?

First off, what type of cartridge are you using. If you are using a cartomizer, it might taste burned because you have burned the intake tube in your cartridge, if this has happened there really is no way to save it.

It could just be dirty or clogged, a good way to check is if when you blow out the mouth piece end of the cartridge the fluid coming out of the end is a dark brown color. If so there are several methods to clean but the best and easiest is to run water through until the liquid coming out is clear then dry.

If you are using a cartridge with separate atomizer then your best off just replacing, the cartridges are pretty cheap.

I need to learn the best way to take a dry atty and get it into dripping mode.

The way ive been doing it: 3 drops. Coupla primer puffs. Add drops and primer puffs til it tastes good.

Right now im having zero luck with brand new atty and a clean/dry atty. By the time i get flavor its flooded. By the time the flood dries it tastes burnt. I cant find the in-between.

no cart, im dripping into an atomizer. which usually works, but not on this new one, or this cleaned and dried one.

the easiest way it works for me is to blow it out completely...then drip about 6 drops of liquid into it and blow that out through the atty (blow from the mouthpiece end)..then put on battery and drip 2 drops...if not enough drip one more at a time til it's good... It's basically blowing the juice through a completely dry atty to resaturate it..

Im with them - I prime it a few times before it tastes right (involves alot of me imitating a pipe smoker) and I find with new atties I have to drip more frequently - then something happens and it starts not needing the extra drips or so often.
On rare occasions a new atty will 'get' it really quickly but usually it takes a few 'practice' runs.

Maybe this is my problem... maybe i think im flooding it, so i dont add enough liquid, hence the burnt taste. Thanks for your input, guys.

Ima try and solve this problem with juice... flooding be damned!

Yep it takes extra drops on a dry atty. I have removed the bridges on many atties and found that it does help if you are getting a funky flavor. Once you have the atty broken in right I would suggest 2 or 3 drops at a time once the vapor drops off. It seems to work great once you get the hang of it.

Sorry if I missed it but are you using a 510? If so, the cartomizers are really nice and with a drip tip they are very easy to get used to.

I just took the old atty i had cleaned yesterday and removed the bridge. Now that's flavor like i havent yet tasted! Good, now i have an atty specifically for dripping.

I have some 510 cartos and i like them a lot, but a carto with a drip tip on it? If you dripped into the center of a carto wouldnt the juice go in that center tube? Does that tube lead to the coil? I always thought you didnt want to get juice in the center, but maybe that's just for filling?

Ill take your word for it, but i didnt know you could direct drip a carto. I look forward to trying it.

I kind of aim for the sides. It works great and I do love the atties without the bridge. It's a little warmer and changing flavors is easier too. I used to clean my atties but I have pretty much given up on that. Athough if I have one that is hard to draw from I will take a needle and clean out the air holes. Just be carefull with the hole on the bottom. If you poke it in too far you will hit the coil and break it, then it's shot.

1) More drops for a completely dry atomizer
2) Give it time to soak in a little

i dont recall having any problems since i started dripping.

basically i take a fresh atty , throw some drop on , blow it out into a paper towel (i plug the side hole so it comes out the batt hole) , and then drip a couple drops and hit.

when you get vapor with no taste , its time to re-drip.

havent had a problem doing this yet. and i actually like the primer taste...

Thanks. Im still getting a feel for things. Im once again dripping happily (in the atty i removed the bridge just for dripping with). I realize your procedure is for attys with bridges, though (of which i have plenty).
