I have been reading up on DIY and am interested in trying it out. I am not going to attempt it until I fully understand it, but right now I am starting to learn its "chemistry" so to speak. I am interested in making things naturally, like making my own flavor additives. I cannot seem to locate a site which explains this. If I purchased diluted nic, PG & VG and wanted to make my own "flavors" literally, how would I do that without ordering online? Are there good essential oils from the health store? Can I make my own chocolate flavor with chocolate that I purchase? These are just examples. I am trying to further my DIY knowledge, but like I said, I want to make my own flavors. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, what sorts of things would be impossible for me to make, and why? I understand the concept, but I do not understand why you have to order stuff online. I know artificial flavoring is fake, but why can't I make it a real flavor with real stuff? Thanks so much :) :vapor:

To start with baby steps, you can order a flavorless pre-mixed base and add your own flavors as you will. So you can start with say X mls of 50 PG / 50 VG 6mg flavorless base and add in your own percentages of flavoring. That is a super easy way to get your feet wet. You can buy at almost any ratio and mg that you want. Once you feel comfortable then you can buy PG/VG/Nic all separately and create your own base.

As for the home-made flavors, I can't help you much with that except to mention there are some very excellent flavor vendors out there whose flavors are top notch. I mean who doesn't love Bacon and Kung Po Chicken!?

You can only do so much at home. Tobacco, Coffee, Tea, Vanilla, Spice, culinary Herbs...Chocolate probably not a good idea.
There are vendors for natural flavors out there, sorry I don't have links right now.

BTW, this is posted in the Recipes Forum inside of DIY, you might want to have it moved to DIY and many more people will chime in!
