After trail and error(s) ordering three models, I have found the one for me – The Riva.

My first introduction to e-cigs was 6 months ago at a golf tournament when I saw a woman vaping. We discussed the unit she had, a KR8 I think, but I was not ready to give up analong. Well, seven weeks ago, I was to the point of hating to everything about analogs. The smell, taste, coughing, 20 yr addiction; everything about them I had come to hate. So, I went on-line to place my first order.
Like several others on the forum, I started my journey with the Blu to assist with kicking the habit, however, found this forum and was kicking myself. My wife and I used the Blu units for a week and enjoyed the vaping, but she found the maintenance too much and returned to analogs. I however, keep on using them and researching.

My next order was a Joye 510 and a KR8 since both units had favorable reviews on the site. The KR8 is a nice unit with decent vapor production; however, I did not like the Cartomizers. My wife did like thme and used it while I took the 510. Looking for more vapor, I modified the 510 attys with blue foam and was really enjoying the unit until this weekend.

I spent hours on the forum reading about the different units looking for my next upgrade and decided to order the Riva. I placed the order with Vaporjunction for a Platinum Riva starter kit with two Low Resistant attys. On Friday afternoon, I was pleasantly surprised to get my shipment in the mail – two days delivery time from Vaoprjunction – crazy fast. I charged the battery per the instructions tested the unit at 12:00 midnight. WOW! :vapor: I called my wife out to see the plums of vapor the Riva was producing and she was also impressed. The juices tasted better and this unit even added a little warmth to the vapor. After a 20 min test, we returned the battery to the charger for the final charging. At 1:30 am, I tried it again and have not looked back.

The only downside to my new Riva is that my wife took custody of it Saturday afternoon after her last analong in the pack. Let me tell you that I could not be happier. She stated that this unit is the closest to smoking she has used it for the remainder of the weekend. Not one analog since Saturday afternoon - YES! It has been six weeks for me and I am now enjoying the vaping experience and juices. Yesterday morning, I promptly ordered another Riva for myself, black this time, extra batteries and LR attys from Vaporjunction and hope to have them by Friday.

To everyone on the forum researching e-cigs, I recommend reading the posts for a week or so prior to placing your first order. I initially spent $150-200 on units that will get little use. Not that much money in the big picture vs. the cost of analogs for two, however I should had done more homework.

If I had to do it again, the Riva would be my first purchase – PERIOD.

Good luck to all. :toast:

I also love my RIVA! I started out with the Blu and it didn't do it for me. Very inconsistent vapor production. But, I was only using the included prefilled carts and didn't know you could add juice. Almost went back to cigarettes but was determined to make vaping work. After much reading on this site, I ordered the RIVA and have been very happy with it. Recently got LR attys - they are great. Still wasn't quite getting the lung hit I needed so, on the recommendation of Salemgold, ordered Atomic Cinnacide from Tasty Vapor. Just got it today and, so far, WOW! This stuff rocks! Good luck to you and your wife!

Good replys folks - I am hoping to get my "replacement" tomorrow before I go out of town fo 2 weeks, but I have my trusty 510 as a back up. I plan on getting one more unit as a back up for each of us in the event of total failure.

Kellie - I am with you on the perfect juice. Over the weekend - I ordered a total of 210 ML from three companies and hopefully I will find the one I want for my daily juice. So far, I am really liking Johnson Creek Original and my wife loves the Tenn. Cured. Have some coming from Backwoods Brew and Freedomsmokes which have received great reviews. I have found that the juices mature with time and I am enjoying ones that I received 6 weeks ago.

Just out of curiosity, is the Riva the same as the eGo? It looks like it, and I do love my eGo. Using an LR atty on it right now and it's fantastic. Got a mega atty and pack of carts coming shortly too just to try out the difference.

The riva is the same as the ego, yeah just "rebranded" apparently :) Only difference I have heard about mega atty's /carts is they hold a lott more juice which i think is awesome!

Floyd, I'm glad to hear you and your wife kicking the analog habit. I too started with the Blu cigs for about a month and then about 2 months ago I switched to the 510's. Fairly happy with those except the short use time on the carts between refill times. (I'm going to mega size carts and attys that hold more e juice). I was thinking about going to go for the Riva, Ego, Tornado size , like what you got, in the future.
Enjoy!!!!

Flacour is correct that The Riva is similiar to the EGO, however that ar a few additional differences that many people like. The Button is a made of a softer product and it has a larger battery = longer between charges. I have been using it all for a week and have not had a battery drain yet. 13+ hours plus on a single charge is incredible. Also the band that is around the battery is flush, not recessed, like the EGO. The biggest advantage is the 6 month warranty for me. There are several reviews on both of the units, I am not advanced enough to find on the site. I have not seen an EGO so I can't compare personally. I think it all comes down to preference.
