I had a whole post explaining the situation written out, but it glitched and didn't post. SO:
I have an Ego C Twist battery (650), been using tanks similar to this: Vision eGo Clearomizer 2.5-2.9 Ohm, Yellow (haven't been able to find the exact tanks I got from the shop locally, but that's pretty damn close and I also ordered and have been using a couple of these as well)
I had some battery issues, but I think that was just a charging issue to start with. After about 3 days I managed to essentially MELT my wicks. Tasted like horrible burnt plastic, and actually hurt my lungs for about 3 hours. I didn't know anything about wicks, so after some googling, discovered you can pull em to the side if they get a little burnt as a temporary fix. I barely tugged and they shredded. Couldn't find a way to replace the wicks, so I ended up with 3 more tanks. I've been running at 3.2v (the ones I ordered on MadVapes, seem to only be built for that.)
Thanks to a handy info card from MV, I discovered the whole certain tanks at certain voltages (derp) and what was designed for what, but I can't seem to match any to what I really need?
Basic questions I've got:
-I know everyone's different, but Tank's seem like the quick, easy, painless route. I have no idea what I'm doing, but from what little I really understand about the vaping process, they seem like the way to go. Am I completely wrong? (I am a dunce on all of this at the moment. Even when people start using terminology other than what they handed me at the vape shop I got my set up at, I'm LOST... I'm slowly figuring it out though, I think..?)
-Why the HELL do my wicks keep tasting burnt?
I keep running them at low voltages (they seem to be built for it. If I accidentally hit my voltage up too high, they start tasting a bit crisp.. so I knock em back down as soon as I notice it.) I did read a few things on cleaning/changing wicks fairly regularly/not running too low on juice. I'm still a little lost on the cleaning other than what I can best describe as a good rinse? The stuff I've got doesn't seem like it's a set up I can fully disassemble and put back together. I'm fairly certain the tanks I have aren't designed to be used "long term" and can't really have the wicks changed. I'm probably wrong.....
-Is the Vivi Nova the answer to my problems?
It seems like the only tank that is build to be easily replace parts/ use with variable voltage.
