I have been smoking Marlboro Lights for 20 years, minus a few times in my life I quit (a year for each pregnancy and then some month long quits).

Smoking is the biggest stressor in my life. I am ready to invest and hook myself on vaping. I desperately want to quit regular cigarettes.

My problem is time... I don't really have the time to learn! I have purchased something from a tobacco store.. next generation or something... comes in a black case. I am pretty sure it's not going to help me a bit. If its all I could find at a brick and mortar, I imagine I am not even getting a clue what vaping is all about.

I am doing my best to narrow it down to some choices and just buy something, but I am a single mom with way too many things going on lately, I just don't have the time to do the research. I would love to have some recommendations from people. For now, I just want something that is going to be good quality, will not be really big (I don't like how heavy they seem to be in my fingers, but I guess that's something to get used to), and most of all, I want it to be simple.

I totally understand getting really into accessories. I have done that with plenty of hobbies. But I want this to be as simple as possible so I don't reach for the Marlboros. I can always add something more complicated later on if I get really into it. I do think I will like some fruity flavors, too!

I also needed it to be easy. I ended up with an eGo. I immediately set aside the tanks and attys that came with it and put on a stardust. There are probably some starter kits that come with that set-up that someone can direct you to. Putting it together piece by piece wouldn't be terribly expensive either and you could possibly get better/cheaper/slightly different batteries. The eGo twist battery is all the rage at the moment.

Hi Again Gridley. Since you already have a kit, What is it that you dont like about the one you have? What is it that you do like about it?
Would something the diameter and length of a 120mm analog be small enough? Would it be ok if it where a bit thicker , about the diameter of a AA battery? Would you be willing to go with a unit with a button to activate it?

Through research.. reading posts and stuff, I've found that people usually migrate to a variable voltage vaporizer. So.. I bought a provari.

I got it two days later... I love it - I never looked back. I've been puffin on kitty kisses from darkcityvapor. Yum!

Anyway, I'm a hard smoker - like 1.5 packs a day of Newports. I've tried patches, gum, and a whole bunch of other BS.

We're in this together - but buy something better if you think the ecig that you bought even kind of helped you~!

The kit I have includes the part you charge via USB, then the other part. I have vanilla with no nicotine, and then high nicotine, because that is what came with the kit. That's all it has.
I don't like the flavor, the end doesn't light up even when fully charged (I don't really care if it lights up or not, but I think it is supposed to, and it doesn't). It was very limited options, and of course I just impulse bought it thinking it was better than nothing.

Well, basically, it's just not doing anything for me. I haven't taken it out today at all.

Its fine to be a little bigger, I realize if I get something the size of a cigarette, it likely will be compromising battery duration or something. But I watched the first video on the provari link and that thing seemed huge to me. But that sure was a lot of vapor!!

They also sell a "Premium" kit with more cartos and I think some additional chargers for about $30 more. Your choice.

After that, you'll only have to be sure you keep yourself stocked up on cartos and juice. Some people here really like some of the juice flavors sold by Smokeless Image. I also hear their customer service is top notch.

That's not what I bought because I had more of an interest in fiddling with this stuff. But, in your situation, it might be the best option especially if you really think you need something light. (A LOT of people start out with the notion that their e-cig needs to resemble a real cigarette and MOST of them quickly lose that notion after vaping for a while, but you may be different.)

Oh, if you go with the Volt, I would strongly recommend that you go with the largest batteries they offer and get the manual ones, not the automatic.

If you want some tips on other options that are larger and may require more fiddling, let us know and you'll get lots of suggestions.

This is part of why I want something easy. I don't want to mess around with a bunch of stuff just to get set up each time I want to replace a regular cigarette with vaping. I don't smoke around my kids, I "sneak" but... please. They are 8 and almost 10 and I know they are on to me. It's such a horrible guilt, because I try to be honest with them on everything. So for now, I would still be sneaking this, although I would love to tell them eventually I found a safer alternative. Especially if I can get to 0 nicotine at some point, though I plan to start with nicotine or I worry I will fail. Thanks so much for your reply, very helpful!

Ok We have a place to start. My Advice would be to go with at least something the size of an eGo. Like the one in the middle of the picture.For comparitive purposes I have pictured here a standard 510 then and eGo(clone) then an eGo Twist.

The thing about the fatter batteries is that with the mid sized and larger units you will have a very wide selection of things that are ok to run with it, like low resistance cartomizers. The size is not much to get accustomed to once you have realized you are replacing smoking with this rather than trying to duplicate smoking itself. For shopping purposed in size you have a 180mAh(510) then a 650mAh(eGo) then the same size as a 1100mAh( kGo). The latter is what i would advise if you are ok with the overall length.

The pink tip is a drip tip and you should get one if you are going to be using cartomizers, it makes the feel on the lips more comfortable and the ease of keeping the cart topped up with liquid much better too.
I know there is Alot to take in but you have already begun down this path so just enjoy where it may take you.

You need something that doesn't require a learning curve. You're not interested in learning the difference between a Watt and an ohm. You want minimum fuss and fiddling and something that just works right and tastes good. Is that about right?

If you're willing to put up with 3-3.5 hrs between charges, or add a larger battery to your kit, you can't do better than a Volt. forget about the $100-$200 variable voltage and all that for now. If you prefer a small size, get a Volt kit with 78mm manual batteries. Pick up some sampler cartridges and you'll be set. If, later on, you decide you want something with a little more flexibility, you can get another larger, inexpensive battery that will work with your cartridges. If you want to buy your juice from somewhere else, you can get blank cartridges and fill them yourself.

It's a good little unit, and I don't even like mini-cig style e-cigs. But it would be perfect for what you're looking for.

I went with the Pro Volt Kit, picked one longer battery and one shorter one (I know it will be less battery life, but really... it's not just cigs here, I seem to like smaller compact things overall, I swear. I hate big forks lol)
