Evie, I think that the underlying message in your post tells me that you DID go to 0 nic too soon. I've quit and I'm still vaping 24mg juice. I have to desire to smoke a cigarette and even when my wife lights up, I have no urge to have one then. I took a long time to completely quit. For two years after I reduced my 2+ pack a day habit, I still smoked a couple with coffee in the morning and one after each meal. I also smoked one before bed at night. Most days, I'd smoke 6 or 8 and sometimes I'd reach a half pack a day.

One day, I decided to quit those last few. I set a date and smoked my last one. If I felt the habitual urge, I'd just vape a little heavier. After 2 or 3 days, I was back to normal vaping and never looked back. The key was that I cut down for a long enough period and that got me to the point where I was not as heavily hooked, then I quit. What I found out was that I could have quit at any time and found it was a breeze to do so, once I got rid of the heavy addiction.

If you give in, don't worry. Begin to taper down over a period and then drop them all. You'll find it much easier. Lots of us smoked after vaping and then quit as we smoked less and less. Get back on some nicotine first, you've already kicked the cigarettes, now reinforce that decision with some nic!

Maybe I went to zero nicotine too soon. I forgot about vaping most of the day. Then... I went outside with the hubby and he lit up. That first light up smell soooo good. I guess that is where I started having a problem.

Yes...you probably did. Early days, keep some high-nic juice that tastes cigarrette-like handy. I was shocked that after 3 months, I had a big back yard party and with all the smokers I ended up wanting one. I went and got my mini cig-look-alike (wasn't using them any more at this stage) and my most cigarette-tasting 24 mg juice and "smoked". Got through the night and was all better.

Just remember why you quit. I havent quit, yet. I have to get the money to get the stuff for vaping. I want to quit because I want to live longer, see my kids have my grandchildren, be able to play longer with my children without getting winded so soon, be able to go on family bike rides for longer spurts.... and so on. Find that one thing that is stronger than your craving. You can do it!!!

By the way...in the early days we are all faking our brains into thinking we still smoke. That's why I never discourage new folks who want something that looks like a cigarette and fits nicely between your first two fingers. Some of us have fogotten that.... There is real value in initially keeping it as much like "smoking" as possible.

To all who still recommend Volts to new folks...yep.

Well said!

I am not trying to be negative, but I am really getting bored with vaping. My daughter quit with me, and went right back to smoking. I am just really missing smoking. It is 100 outside, and that is where I would have to go to smoke, and I don't really want to do that, but something is missing. I don't have any real cigarettes, and don't plan to buy any, but I want to get over this hump.

What got me over the hump was to get the eGo kit with a 1100 mAh and start to make my own juice. Fun and keeps me trying for something better in taste. I've been 3 months without a SMOKE.

I have those days also. Its called addiction! The good thing is those days will get further apart and easier to get threw. But now that your off analogs I promise you are ruined you wont be able to enjoy them like you once did. Hang in there it sounds like you dont have much support ether if everyone around you is smoking. You have my admiration for being so strong!

Gee,
I'm drinking O'douls. Why doesn't drinking beer do it for me anymore.
I'm vaping 0 nic vape juice, Gee, I have cravings and am bored " I wonder why"

Reality check. If you were a regular cigarette smoker than you are a nicotine addict.

Either you will feed your addiction or you won't.
I respect that you have gone to 0 Nic but it's ridiculous for you to wonder why you are bored and crave a cigarette. You have an addiction that is harder to shake than many drug addictions. I suggest that if it's a choice between analogs and continuing to Vape, you find the minimum dose of Nicotine that will keep you from becoming bored.

Sounds like you went to zero nicotine too soon. I have had a few cigs in the 5 weeks since I have quit, and I hated them. Just a reminder of why I am vaping in the first place. It might smell nice when you see someone light one up, but you know you don't want that in the end. Stick it out and get a new juice flavor and fall in love all over again.

I hear ya Sis! I'm a vaper with a smoking hubby, who has no desire to stop smoking, and no desire to use the ecig.
You can read alittle bit about my jorney in my blogs. I started my vaping career with O nic, and quickly found out that was not the way to go, so I jumped up to 31 mgs. Over time I have gotten back down to O nic and am doing fine. The main thing, I think, is to NOT go down too low too fast. Just take your time. It's harder I think when you have someone still smoking in the house, which is why I went this route in my quit, and it's worked great for me. I wish you the same success!

Thanks for posting this. I just joined up here and have been vaping a month maybe. I haven't had any urges to smoke but I use the highest nicotine level the sell at my local store. 26 mg.
My comment is I'm glad to see the support and advice given by everyone. I'm sure I'll need some of it down the road myself. If I could be so bold as a noob on here I'll give some encouragement and advice. One it take a lot to say hey I'm struggling help me. Cudos for that youve got your problem halfe solved and don't know it yet. Advice from me. Well I have always been told advice is only worth anything if you use it. Take what works for you and use it until it quits working then get some more. Everyone has advice even me and I have got more time invested in looking for lighters to smoke than I have in vaping. I figure in 25 years of smokin I've spent a month trying to find a light.
Until next time
Sincerely
Jeff h

Wow. glad to know everyone else has the same exact feeling. I smoked outside exclusively and never indoors, when I quit I finally had to start vaping outside just to stop thinking about it and then I could smell just how bad the porch really smelled!!! I used to sit outside for 30+ minutes smoking 2 or 3 in a row after work or before bed, now I still do the same thing but vaping. I feel half stupid for it, but maybe its about the break and relaxation. This is like a support group!

It's funny you said that. It's really helped me out with knowing that I'm not the only one going through issues. I've done some bad stuff in my past, but, comming off cigs is the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. I never realized that they are more addictive (to me) than any other thing I ever put in my body.

According to many cigarettes are more addictive than ...... and harder to shake. That's pretty crazy when you really think about it.

One other suggestion to those reading this forum. Let me put some cautions in. The maximum recommended level of Nic is around 26mg. For those just getting off of Analogs or for those who have a high tolerance to Nic. This level just may not be enough.
I believe this is the number 1 reason why people try Vaping and quit. They simply aren't getting enough Nicotine.

The way I'd look at it is that if you took a person who was an alcoholic and used to 7 whiskeys a day. Than put him on 1 beer a day. How long do you think he'd last?

Myself I've been vaping in the 40mg range for years. When I was vaping the pre-made stuff I spiked it with 100mg Juice. Caution 100mg Nic base is not considered safe to handle. Investigate thoroughly before you begin using it. Caution: Vaping at 40mg+ is not recommended and could cause dizziness or worse for those who do not have a tolerance to this level. Experiment at lower levels first and be very careful

I've converted Smokers who tried the lower end store stuff and went back to smoking by showing them a stronger device and High Nic Liquid.
