I've heard this on the street, and on the forums. If you have a very hard draw on your ecig, there is a pretty good chance it is clogged.

There are many solutions to this, from draining the atomizer overnight on a piece of paper towel to blowing them out with your mouth to cleaning them.

Honestly, any cleaning is done at your own risk, but I've had very good results with giving my atomizers an alcohol bath then blowing em out and letting em dry.

Don't give up on ecigs just because yours isn't hitting right, it may just be dirty! :)

vape on!

Alcohol, rubbing or drinking, is good for dissolving gunk in an atty. Unfortunately it is also good for dissolving adhesives in the atty. The fact that rubbing alcohol is not for internal use, mainly because it is isopropyl alcohol, as well as denatured, is not the issue, and can be flushed with hot water. The issue is adhesives dissolving. Every one of the attys I've cleaned like this worked great afterwards, but a few cleanings later were dead. Some do get lucky with this, but its a crap shoot.

I clean (rarely) with Crest Health Pro, 10 min soak, followed by lots of hot water flushing, then towel dry some and let sit 24 hours or so...or blow drier works well too. High pressure anything can break connections...they are relatively fragile.

Unfortunately, and especially if you use VG juices, clogging is going to be relatively common if you are using regular or mega batts. They do not put a true 3.7V on the coil. Higher capacity batts, like the 14500 in my Bartelby, do put 3.7V on the coil. This is, in my experience, the best way to keep attys clear...they are vaping where they were designed to vape.

Additionally, if you try to continually vape on a clogged or sluggish atty, it will overheat and often warp inside and become permanently clogged. This has happened to me a few times.

Another clogging issue is tobacco juices, which have a high particulate content. These get into the wick threads and are almost impossible to get rid of. Not all do this, but many.

If your atty is really hard to draw on it's my guess that it is the air holes that are plugged. They come unplugged with a cleaning. However, they can also be unplugged with a needle. On the 510 I just take a pin or needle and stick it in the air holes and work it around for a second. Don't forget the hole on top of the threads that one gets plugged as well. If the atty still tastes fine this might work for you without all the other hassle.

If the atty tastes nasty, I boil rinse and blow out until I can no longer smell the last liquid that was in it. The I use a blowdryer until it is very dry and that's it, good to go. If one is very funky soak it overnight the blue crest is ok but then it smells like mint so once again I just stick with water.

Please dont use rubbing alcohol or anything else that you wouldnt ingest into your system.

Rubbing or Isopropyl alcohol evaporates with time. If you don't smell any more alcohol in your atomizer, it's dry and safe to vape. I clean my atty's all the time with Isopropyl alcohol...

To the OP: What kind of batt's are you using? Automatic batt's can get clogged with juice as well, and those are a little tricky to clean. Manual batt's are better for that reason, IMO.

What if it's a brand new atty and it's really hard to draw on it? No chance it's clogged, blew it out really well before I used it. I have several other atty's and 2 so far are like this. Any ideas?

check the air holes out make sure that they are not plugged with anything. Even brand new it could be a problem. Take a needle or pin and work it around it can't hurt to try.

Good luck.
